    World is not a one sided traffic

    People work hard for their goals and objectives and some of them achieve that also. Sometimes things move in an expected directions. It does not mean that every time our wishes would come true. We are not the only force in this world. There are innumerable energy sources and powerful people who would also be trying hard to achieve their aspirations and we would be one among that crowd relentlessly working for our well being. The conclusion 'I am supreme' is actually a misleading thing in the lives of some people and in that misunderstanding they do some blunders which even children would think twice before doing. We must remember that world is not a one way traffic and if we are doing some efforts in one direction, there are people who are doing their own efforts in some other directions and we are actually situated in between somewhere in this huge traffic of aspirations and ambitions. How can we be sure that only we would be successful and all others would fail. Members may like to give their views please.

    World is not a one sided traffic but having traffic in both sides. On the one side there are people who are doing relentless research, hard work to achieve something good for the society and their country and all this being done silently and with no publicity. And there are people who want to thwart such people who work towards achieving something great for the mankind. Instead of appreciating such endeavor these second kind of people criticism them in such a way that they loose the interest of doing good for the society. When we cannot do any good work, at least we should not disturb others, who are in the brink of achieving some break through or the other through their relentless selfless motives. So the non performers must take oath that they will not disturb the legitimate right and results of the great findings.

    I would like to quote this poem here:

    Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
    Life is but an empty dream!
    For the soul is dead that slumbers,
    And things are not what they seem.

    Life is real! Life is earnest!
    And the grave is not its goal;
    Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
    Was not spoken of the soul.

    Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
    Is our destined end or way;
    But to act, that each to-morrow
    Find us farther than to-day.

    Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
    And our hearts, though stout and brave,
    Still, like muffled drums, are beating
    Funeral marches to the grave.

    In the world's broad field of battle,
    In the bivouac of Life,
    Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
    Be a hero in the strife!

    Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
    Let the dead Past bury its dead!
    Act,— act in the living Present!
    Heart within, and God o'erhead!

    Lives of great men all remind us
    We can make our lives sublime,
    And, departing, leave behind us
    Footprints on the sands of time;

    Footprints, that perhaps another,
    Sailing o'er life's solemn main,
    A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
    Seeing, shall take heart again.

    Let us, then, be up and doing,
    With a heart for any fate;
    Still achieving, still pursuing,
    Learn to labor and to wait.

    You are not the only person in this entire world. Competition is more, opportunities are less. This is the fact and everyone should understand this fact and behave accordingly. But at the same time, we can't leave everything saying that it is a competitive world.
    We should have our goals and we should try to achieve that and we should put all our efforts to come out successfully. Even after doing all that also we may not be able to get the goal achieved. Then we should console ourselves saying in this world there are many people and always we may not be successful.
    If we never attempt sincerely to achieve the goal thinking that we will get everything we want, the chances of achieving the desire are very difficult. So always remember the words of Lord Krishna to Arjuna, never go away from your duty and never expect the result.

    This is a beautiful poem 'A Psalm of Life' by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. We have to move ahead leaving our footprints on sand - Amazing lines by the great poet.

    In some matters our life is one-way traffic only. We just go ahead, but do not come back. For example we cannot become infants again. There are such many things which cannot be reversed, reverted or retraced.

    So I feel that the title is not so apt to express and explain what the author wants to convey.

    The author wants to convey that there is space for every one in this world. The space cannot be monopolised and usurped one (or more by humans) alone. The world is so big to accommodate and allow all the millions and millions of humans and the billions and trillions of other species and even inanimate objects.
    One Malayalm poet has desribed the vanity and folly of human beings who think they are the Supreme, in the followinglines:

    " Anantam ajnaatam avarnaneeyam
    Ee loka golam thiriyunna margam
    Athingal engaandum oridathuninnum
    Nokkunna marthyan katha enthu kandu?"
    (This world has no beginning no ending and unfathomable or incomprehendable. What can a mere human beingknow looking from one small corner)
