Thank Heavens, Uncle Sam could ultimately see reason

Most of you must be aware that in a recent July 6 directive, the US administration had asked overseas students to leave the country for good, if their universities are going to conduct only online classes from coming September. It was a big blow to the aspirations of two lakh Indian students studying in the US. Paying millions of rupees that too after taking costly educational loans and then being asked to return to India did not seem justified at all. Providing relief to the students, the big universities like Harvard and MIT joined forces with 100s of other US colleges to stop this injustice by Uncle Sam. Even the American tech industries and the American Chamber of Commerce deplored such high-handed decision by the US administration that would have caused immense financial losses to the overseas students as well as their future would have been uncertain.

Thank Heavens, good sense prevailed at last and the directive stands withdrawn.

I read the news that the US government asked the students if they are studying online. Many might have suffered if this order was not stopped. But the government stopped that as on date there is no problem for the student. Probably they may not give VISAS further as long as the regular classes will not start and the virus problem comes down. Anyhow in the present status, no one may think of going there.
