This year will there be JEE Main and JEE Advanced

IIT aspirants can breathe a little more easy, now that the Union HRD Minister has announced that the marks obtained in class 12 won't be a criteria for this year's admission to IITs. Otherwise, students had to earlier score at least 75% marks in class 12 or be among the top 20 percentile in their respective board. This will certainly bring relief as many of the boards were not able to finish their board exams due to the lockdown.

But, what I am wondering is, will it be at all possible to conduct this year's JEE Main, JEE Advanced or the NEET exam? Already their dates have been shifted twice and the way the virus is progressing in the country, things won't be favourable even in September, the next likely dates for conducting these exams. What will the authorities do then? Postpone it further or simply cancel it for this year? Or will it be combined with the next year's batch? It will be double trouble then for both the batches.

That is a piece of good news for the IIT aspirants. There is no 75% marks restriction for this year. But the big question is still there unanswered. How to conduct entrance tests? Even seat in other engineering colleges also will be allotted by an entrance test only. But the dates for these entrance tests also are not finalised. Two times they got postponed. It is really difficult to conduct these examinations. The situation is going from bad to worst. So how they are going to decide is not clear as on date. I feel they may conduct late in September or October and classes may start from January 2021.
