    A poem for my motherland

We were born from the blood
    Of thine womb
    Thine shalth we die
    In rubbled dust

    Oft the courses
    As life taketh us
    The river of
    Shadows

    Moving beyond
    In the cacophonous
    Liberties.

    A shade of blossom
    Saffron, white and green...

    We pledge to honour thee
    We pledge to remember...

    The sacrifices made
    The fire burnt
    The vows made.

    Ryyu,
You missed the bus that carried the poem at ISC. Your excellent poem could have won the prize if it was posted in time in the thread available to the members. Anyhow, you appear to be a good poet. All the best, Ryyu.

Nice rendition of the poem by the author which seems to have come from his deep heart as the connect was visible with patriotism and motherland as the whole.

A well-written poem by the author. The poem shows the deep sense of love and affection he has towards the motherland. A mother is carrying her children for none months only. The motherland is carrying them throughout life and taking them into her body after the death of the individual. So we should never forget the importance of motherland. A great thought.
