Preparation of Independence Day Celebration in an Innovative Way

While taking the class in the morning session, a few students shared their concern about the Independence Day celebration this year. They were worried because unlike the previous years it won't be possible to celebrate the Day by physical gathering. Then, I assured them that the school has some surprise for you and we will announce it soon.

In the afternoon, I called an interactive meet over Google Meet and dropped the WhatsApp message in the Class groups.

    Hello Students,
    Good afternoon ma'am, said students.

Students, as you are aware that 15th August is only five days away and because of CoVID-19 pandemic, the situations differ greatly from earlier. So we have decided to celebrate Independence Day online through the virtual meet. Therefore, today we have scheduled this meet to share the planning of the upcoming programme. As of now, from tomorrow onwards four days are left for Independence Day so we will carry out each day some activity /competition for all classes from 6th to 12th separately. Date wise planning is:

On 11th August 2020, there will be a Patriotic song competition.
12th August 2020 has been kept for Dance performances.
On 13th August 2020, a Storytelling competition on freedom fighters will be held.
On 14th August 2020, there will be two competitions. 1) Quiz competition on Independence Day
    2) Cooking competition: Tricolour fireless cooking: Nowadays you are staying at homes and spending time with your mother and learning a lot from her. So you will have to prepare tricolour fire-less recipes without taking her help, and photographs are to be sent to the class teachers.

What you will have to do is that the interested participants will have to make videos of activities and send to the respective class teachers. Besides, on 14th August there will be a speech performance by the students. Recording of speech performance will be done.

From all these competitions, the top three entries from each class will be selected. These winning entries along with best speech performances will be shown in virtual celebration of Independence Day.

On 15th August, the programme will start from 7:30 AM with Flag hoisting and National Anthem, then Principal ma'am will deliver a speech. After that, all the best-pre-recorded award-winning programmes will be run one by one. After the programmes, prizes will be given to the winners. At the end of the programme, virtual sweets will be distributed to all the students. The whole programme will be recorded and uploaded on the website and Facebook page of the school.
Dress code for 15th August: Students are advised to prepare a try colour cap and India flag using paper and watercolours and wear a neat and clean tricolour dress (if possible) or school uniform and school ID card during the celebration.

Ok students. Are you happy now?
    Students: Yes, Ma'am
So, what are you waiting for? Start preparation.
    Good luck to all.

The author has taken the help of social media and the current ways to get connected to the student through new apps and thus proven that things can happen at hard times.

Good. Many competitions and prize distribution on flag hoisting day. Definitely students will be very enthusiastic to participate in these programs and win prizes. Special dress code is also given for the day. The special attraction is a fireless recipe in a cooking competition. Many novel ideas and usage of technology I think the program will be very interesting to all the students. Well narrated story.
    always confident

Interesting and elaborate narration regarding the depiction of the student's enthusiasm for the coming 15th August celebration. It is definitely a unique way to celebrate it on a few days continuously to cover more items and of course more students.
