A very able administrator and a great statesman, Ram Vilas Paswan is no more. Very sad news. The founder of the Lok Janshakti Party died while getting recuperating from heart surgery demised yesterday in the hospital.
Ram Vilas Paswan served the nation as a minister in almost all Central governments since 1989. He worked with six Prime ministers. He has become a minister in the cabinet of VP Singh for the first time. Presently he was in charge of the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution portfolios in Modi's cabinet. He was born on 5th July 1946 and he was one of the young leaders inspired by Jaya Prakash Narayan and worked actively with him.
It is a big loss to the nation in general and the Dalits in particular. I pay my respects to the departed soul. My condolences to all his family members and his party members.

Ram Vilas Paswan was a versatile personality. He was one of those unique personalities who have worked in various spheres of Govt activities. It is said that he was a person to concentrate and focus in the areas whichever was given to him for monitoring and managing. He never refused or inclined for a particular position. That was a reason that he was one of the leaders who was always occupied with some good portfolio and had a great skill of making good terms in the party as well as with the senior leaders. He had many distinguishing characteristics like that and today he is no more with us but his successful innings in politics and administration would be remembered by the people in general and his followers in particular. His loss would be felt in those circles. I pray the almighty for departed soul to rest in peace.

This is really sad news for the nation and Dalit community as they lost the most promising leader of all time and every time he contested for the elections, he won with very great margin. His party has allinged with BJP in last elections and having see saw relations with the JDU and thus Paswan has been keeping low profile. His health gone deteriorated after heart surgery and his prolonged illness also brought challenging times to the party. Though his son Chirag Paswan want to have ally with BJP , but JDU does not want that. So the party has been kept out of NDA. Now that Ram Vilas Paswan is dead, the Bihar state which is going for polls shortly would certainly have the effect and BJP has to work hard to win the voters as the Dalit solidarity vote would go to LJP and Nitish Kumar has to brace up more for the win.

No doubt, he was a good leader who could manipulate to have an alliance with the party coming to power. Thus he could manage to serve as a minister under many (6) Prime Ministers of India. May his good soul rest in peace.
