This is going to be a serious issue now as all these days the Bollywood has been sulking as the drug cases and arrests were going on and now that it has been subsidized, the actors and the producer guild seems to have reprieve to pounce on those two news medias which were reporting with truth and substance and the reaction of Bollywood with case file proves that there has been inner conspiracy to malign and make shut the media. When the inside actors themselves agreed that drugs have been extensively used in parties and other occasions, what is wrong when the media finds this truth, thanks to Sushant Singh Rajput death through which all these dirty news are coming out from the Bollywood cupboards. Nevertheless media is not weak and has total support from the viewers and there could be showdown between the two.

After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, there has been a twist in the entire affair. CBI was busy not only to pin point the cause of his death but has traced out several Bollywood personalities indulged in consumption of drugs and accordingly the investigation of CBI was intensified to nab more culprits. Naturally such exposures did not go well with the Bollywood Industry and they came out with the heavy protest against the press reporters.
It is rather difficult to judge which party is strong enough to get themselves exonerated in the ongoing affair. Bollywood personalities would resort to heavy pressure before the media to withdraw such allegations but the media is equally powerful due to immense public support.
No doubt the investigation initiated by CBI has created a new twist in the episode both maligning to each other.

Bollywood industry is in serious trouble this year. The pandemic has caused the stoppage of production and many senior actors also sitting without any work. Meanwhile, Sushant Singh's death has brought many issues. CBI enquiry into the death of Rajput brought the drugs issue also into the limelight. Many actors were named in this drugs issue. All these issues are putting a lot of pressure on many famous personalities from the industry. They can't say anything against the CBI or the government. So they are behind these news media. So they have gone for cases against the media. But some people are equally powerful in media also and now this will be a big fight. Now we have to wait for the outcome of the CBI enquiry as well as the case against the media people.
Like in many other cases, in this case also the hype may come down after some time and the culprits may be enjoying. Anyhow, let us watch the fight between these two.

They should be but not by any institution or film industry. The media should be sued by the public because of the types of news most of the news channels are broadcasting these days. I am really surprised by the replies of some members because of one single reason and that is this particular thread Is national media bringing shame and cynicism to the country posted not even a month ago. Have we all forgotten the role of the media? On one hand, we will say that the media has a very important role in a democracy and many other similar things and when they are sued for the right reasons we will oppose it. Why this is so? Why can't we judge which is right and which is wrong? When an investigating agency is carrying out an investigation who are we or the media to jump into conclusions? Why the media has shifted its focus completely and reporting things which have nothing to do with the general public? Is there any answer to it?

Sankalan Bhattacharya is right on the target. The media in our country is trying to shift the focus from the main issues and diverting to other issues, not of concern for the general public. It seems we are influenced by other factors and unable to distinguish right from wrong. Certain media groups are shifting focus and trying to divert public attention to help some political parties. The media should not try to be judgemental. Its duty is to report the happenings in the country and allow the public to make their own opinions. The contrary is happening and the media is trying to influence the public with an agenda. Hope this case will drive some sense into them and make them responsible.

Media plays an important role in democracy but if it does not perform its duty, it can be criticised healthily. It should be kept in mind that the media is not beyond accountability. If these channels have not committed any illegal activity they will be exonerated from all allegations. Let them face the investigation, instead of criticizing other channels.

I think we should all agree that some media houses are involved in character assassination of people and this trend can't be justified.
Character assassination in any form is a reprehensible act. Court has also expressed its concern for spreading fake news as well as the illegal act of hatred mongering. What is good for society, on the whole, is more important than what we like or dislike. Arnab Goswami is a well-known face on the screen. If he is not involved in these cheap acts of TRP theft, he will be proven as innocent. Moreover, all these Bollywood production houses, unions and actors will be proven wrong if Arnab was not wrong in reporting SSR case and performing media trial pertaining to the drug addicts in Bollywood.

Bollywood celebrities are very influential people and they have money power also in their hands. So, making any loose remark about them can create problems for anyone including the TV channels. Now the culprits have to explain as in what conditions they had to resort to such remarks and if they have any proof that there is drug trafficking in the Bollywood they have to produce. If they can somehow prove that then some Bollywood people will be in problem but with that the crime of using loose remarks does not underestimated and some punishment can be given for that. So, this would be up to the wisdom and prudence of the judges to decide the punishment as per the merit of the case. Generally in such mixed cases, decisions are not taken in isolation and all the other cases which are going in the court would be seen in totality before arriving at any verdict in this case lodged by the Bollywood fraternity.

So many things are going in media today and we do not know what is correct and what is wrong and some channels have become too much aggressive and using offending language and naturally the affected persons would complain about that or go to court.
