World Food Programme wins Nobel Peace Prize for this yearThe Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the World Food Programme.
The victims of hunger in the world were increased due to the coronavirus pandemic. In countries like Yemen, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, South Sudan and Burkina Faso,
in addition to the pandemic, violent conflict led to a rise in the number of people starving.
The world Food Programme delivered food for many people in those countries and prevented attempts to create a war by using this hunger as a weapon.
The World Food Programme is a United Nations body. It is the world's largest humanitarian organisation and it works on eliminating hunger and promoting food security to the people.
I congratulate WFP for winning the most prestigious Nobel peace prize for the year 2020.
