Our resurgent forces is ready to take on enemies in their own soil

India is the most peace loving nation in the world and we never triggered any war so far on our own and when it is forced on our national security, we have never taken the back step and punished the enemies with much vigor and vitality. In future our strategy would be new and astonishing the enemies because we have ability to strike and finish the enemies fighting in their own soil and this resurgent capability comes after our forces shown their grit and valor in safeguarding our country in the recent past. On this festive day light a lamp in honor of our soldiers who are guarding us.

Mohan, I understand that this thread is a reverberation of 'His Prime Minister's Voice' but then we are neither politicians nor are we here to propagate their claims. I say so because you said that our forces are resurged now. Do you mean to say that they were inactive till now? That, if you meant so, is an insult to the men in uniform. If they were not active till now, someone from across the borders would have been sitting in Delhi now. Our Prime Minister may make such claims, he needs to do so due to different reasons but while taking a cue and moving on, we need to be careful. I have no intentions to question the intentions of our PM because he knows what to say and when but then we, as the general public should be moderate and unbiased.

We have had lots of lighting the lamps and banging the plates, what we need now is an actual concern and care for the men in uniform and their families. When they are standing ready at the borders with their guns in firing position and their chests ready to accept bullets for the nation, the efforts should be to see that they get what is due to them and ensure that they are given the respect they deserve. Simple political ramblings don't help in boosting the morale of the troops.

And for your kind information, our soldiers have crossed the borders earlier too but we have been law abiding and magnanimous enough to return back to our bases once the task was accomplished.

Our Soldiers there always at the borders and they are ready to get into the neighbouring country's area to fight with them if the situation calls for. No doubt about it and they did it earlier also as pointed out by Saji. But they came back as per the diplomatic decisions taken at them by the leaders keeping the interests of the nation more than anything. That is the capability of our soldiers. At the same time, our country is not having any intentions to occupy land belonging to other countries. Even today also we have no intentions to grab some land for the other countries. But we don't want to hand over our land to them.
We should always remember that Jawans are the people who are giving us peace of life. So we should always support them and we should extend our cooperation to them and to the government in protecting independent India and freedom to the people.

    always confident

Sorry, Mohan. You must understand that the forces had better freedom earlier. They are more guided these days. Check out and analyse facts and enlighten yourself.

India was always considered a polite and meek nation and only tried to defend itself and never made an offence. That is holding today also. We are not offending anyone and our policy is not changed. If someone enters in our territory and does some damage then occasionally we can also enter their territory and settle the score but we never claim that territory as ours. Even the territory earlier seized from us we are not capturing back and only going to UN for its amicable settlement. So much change is not there as regards our basic policy. Only thing changed is our intentions for settling the scores are now more obvious and the last surgical strike is a proof of it. The world is seeing towards us now with some interest and curiosity as a slight change in our defence mechanism is creating small ripples in the international political arena. It is good to have that reflection as it is a show of our strength only.

Our Jawans are guarding our border, water and space 24x7. They are sincere and serious in their work. They are always ready to face the challenges with the enemy. A day is not enough to put on a lamp and thank them. We should do it 365 days in a year. Light a special lamp daily in honour of our forces defending our nation. You may not lit a lamp, but think about them daily once after raising from the bed safely. Adopt a military family, and be helpful to them.

You cannot go on pushing someone continuously. At a time when th person is pushed to end and reached the wall, he takes force from the wall behind and pushes the thrusters with all force. Then begins, a new twist to the till now push. It get reversed or at least defended well.
I India it is the case whether with the stereotyped politicians or with the countries like China and Pakistan. Now we are pushed to the wall. There is no room to be pushed more. So we have started gaining the pushback strength. That is what is beginning to show now.

Saji surely there were no separate forces head previously and now the process of decentralization makes the command more easy to take quick and right decisions.

No separate forces head earlier? Mohan, it seems you are either confused or enamoured by the power centre. Please get your facts clear before coming up with such erroneous statements.

I am talking about Ajit Kumar Doval, current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. Was this post existing then?

Mohan, the post of NSA was created in 1998. The responsibility of the person holding the post is only to advise the Prime Minister in matters involving internal and external security. He is in no way the head of the defence forces. The present incumbent may be enjoying such supremacy due to the extraordinary powers that our present PM has endowed himself with.

India's defence patterns are now well advertised in the media and we are feeling pride in mentioning it. So it is a good thing that we are praising our army and telling the whole world that we can also enter the enemy's territory and give it a lesson.
    Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.

This news was published in the Economic Times on 21st Sep, 2020.

" The Indian Army has occupied six new heights between August 29 and the second week of September. The new hill features being occupied by our troops include the Magar hill, Gurung Hill, Recehen La, Rezang La, Mokhpari and the dominating height over Chinese positions near Finger 4," top government sources told ANI.

If the Chinese army has entered into our territory our army is also sitting in theirs.

    - Whenever, we were asked to help other countries our army was sent. Our army isn't meek as someone has opined in his post. Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka have experienced valour of our army in past.

Indian Armed Forces are one of the best in the world. They performed creditably whenever the occasion demanded. The Indian Armed Forces are having separate Chief for Army, Navy, and Airforce from the beginning. As explained by Saji, Mr. Doval is not the first National Security Adviser. So you are wrong and I wanted you to leave this topic as you are not well informed about those matters. A simple search on Google would have given you the correct information.

In no way, we can undermine the strength of our soldiers engaged in up keeping the security of the country. they are most capable and efficient. If they are given opportunity they would not retreat back. The unfortunate part which the soldiers including their higher ups and the citizens of the country is witnessing hide and seek policy of China resulting in inaction of the defence personnel. Though we captured some territories inside the Chinese region but respecting the earlier agreement, we released the same. This should not be construed our weakness but it has to seen in a different perspective. We are not greedy to grab lands forcefully but we would not like to loose our lands either through the forceful capture of China with some unlawful means.

  • #713339
The Armed Forces act under the orders of the Government. They cannot take decisions independently. The strategic decisions are their own once they are ordered by the Government to accomplish a task. It is from the past few years we see the higher-ups in the Army making statements in the press. The task of the Army is to act but not talk which is a politicians job.

As usual, without going through the things in detail, you raised this confusing thread. Our force is the same force that existed earlier and existing now. There is no change in their activities or the performance of their duties. The force knows what to do and what not to do. Indian armed forces cannot go against the government and act independently. However, they will retaliate and respond befittingly as and when the situation warrants.

Think well before you write on topics related to our defence forces. The National Security Adviser is an adviser to the government, not to the forces. The forces have their own Generals, Admirals and Marshals to take orders from the government(MOD) and command their units.

I doubt whether your intention was what you claim. Your intention was to draw a comparison between the forces then and the forces now which is misplaced. As a few other members have stated, the fact is that the action of the forces are being given wide publicity now with ulterior motives while such actions of the forces were not made public in the past. The security of the nation, I believe, also involves keeping our strategies and moves a secret.

Arafatuzzafar, these reports cannot be totally relied upon.

I am 100% sure about the capability of our defence forces and do understand that they were always ready to take on any enemy, but I don't think we should be encouraging the giving of a political twist or angle to military actions.

As I always say, we should keep defence issues away from the discussion. Let us not discuss issues that we don't know fully. No one knows what exactly happens in our borders. The media feeds false information. Media misleads the people with the support of the opposition parties. Our force is doing their duty without fail. Have trust in our officers and men of the three forces.

If you have time, instead of going to Kedarnath or Vaishnavi or any jungle temples, try to visit our border to see what's happening there. Don't bullshit by sitting at home.
