Chinese firm to build stretch of Delhi-Meerut RRTS project!
The National Capital region transport corporation (NCRTC) is executing the country's first Regional Rapid Rail system (RRTS) project. The National Capital Region Transport (NCRTC) has awarded the contract to Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Company to construct a 5.6-kilometer underground stretch from New Ashok Nagar to Sahibabad.
I have also heard about this project. When mobile apps were being banned in India then this issue was raised in social media. Chinese products are still being sold in Indian market. Chinese companies are yet to be banned. Our government will ban all these companies when it will think it is the right time to ban them. Perhaps this project which the author has mentioned was signed much before the present standoff between China and India. There may be some legal aspect that this contract can not be quashed.
I think this project was decided and awarded based on the expertise of the company and its turnkey projects of the same nature across the world and therefore govt was not particular about China tag associated with it. Moreover, some contracts were finalized many years before the pandemic and LAC crisis started as India had good relations with China then and their PM had visited Chennai over a business meeting with our PM.K Mohan @ Moga 'Idhuvum Kadandhu Pogum " Even this challenging situation would ease
We should not carry forward our enmity. Wherever and whenever we have some advantage or benefit, we should make use of it by forgetting whether he is a friend or foe. Who knows, tomorrow we might settle the dispute and become thick friends. This is done with the interest of developing our national infrastructure. No life without Sun
The project is funded by the Asian Development Bank and the contracts and tenders are governed by their guidelines. The Chinese company which emerged as the lowest bidder for the underground stretch of the project was therefore awarded the contract.'The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step'. Lao Tzu
It is very difficult to stop all interactions with China immediately. There may be many issues to be addressed for this. As mentioned by Saji Ganesh, we can't disqualify China firms from competing to works supported by some funding agencies like ADB. So not only this, but some more works may also go to that country. Wherever possible, we should try and discourage China to the maximum possible extent so that they will feel the pain.drrao always confident
Banning some cheap products from China does not mean that we stop all business activities with them. In fact we are exporting a good amount of material to them and earning some foreign exchange. So some valuable exchange of goods and services will remain there.Thoughts exchanged is knowledge gained.
