Ravi Chandra Aswin makes his point loud and clear

What a splendid hundred from Ravi Chandra Ashwin, the celebrated off-spinner who is just a few wickets away from getting his 400th wicket in Test Cricket. Today, at Chennai, he has notched up his fifty century in Test Cricket.

It is really sad that this talented cricketer is no more a part of the Indian Team in the shorter formats. With his current form being what it is, he will possibly play such a crucial role for Delhi Capitals in the IPL. One can only hope that the Indian selectors will hopefully give him a second chance at least in the one-day game. He had done India proud today and will positively do so well tomorrow with the ball.

Ravichandran Ashwin deserves a place in both the ODI and in the T20 squad as well.

I think it is the 5th century of Ashwin. I request the author to correct accordingly. A real great player with a lot of dedication and sincerity towards the team he is playing. After Anil Kumble, he is the spinner who made a mark of himself on the cricket of the country. He is the only bowler who bowls the carrom ball in India and another bowler from Sri Lanka also bowls this ball. He can claim himself as an allrounder with 5 centuries in his kitty.
As a bowler, he has made many records which will go a long way and takes time for the other bowlers to break those records. I also feel that he should be tried in ODIs if not in T20. Cricket is a peculiar game in which the form of the player changes but a class player will regain his form easily. Aswin is one such person who is a very talented spinner and he can mesmerise the batsmen with his spinners and see that they are back in the pavilion. India will win this match and Aswin is going to be the player of the match.

Unfortunately the selection of players to the national squad is highly tilted towards the political support and politicians back up and thus the deserving candidates are not taken into the squad though there are good performance and high expectations from the fans. Gone are the days when those perform in the Ranji trophy are taken into the national squad previously and now that kind of practice is missing. This is very sorry state of affairs in the Indian cricket and we know if the player gets into the squad the earnings are high and whooping and thus recommended players get into.

If we want that Indian cricket team should be the best in the world then it is imperative that we should induct the good players and give them a fare chance to play in ODI and T20 matches.

Ashwin already showed his potential in this 2nd test and come out with flying colours. He scored 106 runs in the second innings and claimed 8 wickets combinedly in the match. As expected he is the man of the match. He is an asset to the team and I think he will show his true potential in the coming matches and see that we will win the series. Another factor that helped Ashwin is the ground is his home ground. But we can't underestimate his performance saying this as a point. He deserves all appreciations.
