Special Good Friday services and prayers will be held in various churches. Prayers on the Way of the Cross commemorating Christ's journey to Calvary are also part of the Good Friday observance. The Christian belief is that Christ sacrificed Himself on the cross of Calvary for the redemption of mankind.

Good Friday though it is called Good, it meant sanctity. This day Jesus gave His life for people and their enrichment. He gave the meaning of Sacrifice for others. Though He possessed a great power in Him, He did not punished the evil doers on any account in spite of He was severely punished through the Holi cross. He forgive them. People should learn from this and follow His teachings and lead a peaceful and Good life.

Some Christians observe fasting for 40 days and this day will mark the end of their fasting. This Friday is also known as Great Friday and Holy Friday also.
