    Wish you a very happy and safe Ganesh Chaturthi

    Tomorrow all over India, people are going to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. On any important occasion, we start any work by first praying to Ganesha. God Ganesha is known to remove all obstacles while we are doing any important task or work. It is the first and most important festival of both Telugu states i.e. AP and TS. In our tradition, we use clay Ganesh idols at home and carry pooja with 21 types of plant leaves and flowers. After 9 days, the clay idol has to be immersed in the water of a well or any other water body. In TS, mostly in pandals, big Ganesh idols will be used for pooja. I convey my greetings to all the members- wishing yuo all a happy, prosperous and safe Ganesh Chaturthi festival.

    On the occasion of Ganesh festivities I extend my warm greetings to all the fellow citizens of India and abroad and this is the great festival because we seek divine intervention to remove all the obstacles in our life. Presently we are facing the problems of pandemic and the God would certainly ease the situation. This is Nine day festival and mostly celebrated in every house and on the immersion day, it is further festivity galore in Hyderabad as more than one lakh big idols kept by the respective community are being taken out in grand possession and the first being led by Balapur Ganesh and the last being the Khairatabad standing Ganesh. For every year the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav committee takes the responsibility of organizing the festival on grand scale without any untoward incident and state government extends full cooperation.

    On this auspicious occasion, I also convey my good wishes and greetings to all the persons in IS family and wish them a great time during the festival. Due to the pandemic which is still trying to move up through select quarters in our country, we have to be very cautious in enjoying this festial. Crowd is the friend of corona virus and wherever more mixing of people takes place it shows an increasiing trend. I thik it is the moral duty of all of us a good citizen of this country that we should avoid going to crowded place and take advantage of video conferencing and other online modes to enjoy the festival. Let us worship Lord Ganesha in the true sense of protecting our people fronm the pangs of this deadly pandemic. This is the time when we have to show our concern and committment for the welfare of the human beings and the soceity where we live. Blindly following others and making crowds in the temples and other such places would be a big folly.

    This is to convey my best wishes to all the members of ISC a happy and fruitful Ganseh Chaturdhi. Ganesh is supposed to be the God of obstacles. He can remove all obstacles and see that we will reach our goals. Before performing any pooja in our house it is a custom to perform pooja to Ganesa and then do the main pooja. This festival will be performed for nine nights and that is why this festival is called Ganpati Navaratrulu.
    This function will be performed in a great way by almost all castes. Specials will be made and offered to God. In almost all villages, towns and cities of AP.
    This year the government of AP tried to avoid giving permission to conduct this festival in pandals. Many people got disappointed as it is a very important festival for the Hindu religion. Somepeople went to court. Court's verdict has come against the government. Court gave permission to have common pandals and celebrate the festival following all the COVID protocols, I pray to God to see that all this world will be from the virus and normalcy will ve back.

    Even though the Telangana government asked the community worship of Ganesh festivities by going for eco- friendly idols of small size, but yesterday we could see whole lots of big sized idols made of plaster of paris and one such big idol was stuck up as the lorry carrying the same to installation site was got held up hitting the height barrier and the lorry tires has to be deflated to allow the vehicle pass. Here they not only created the drama by stalling the traffic on the busy road, but also damaged the idol on the upper part. Moreover the tank bund where the immersion would takes place on the ninth day was fully modernized with good tiles and seating arrangement befitting the old Maharaja style and lamps and all these has to be removed or again be laid for paving way of smooth immersion of over one lakh big idols.
