Is there a possibility for the Indian T20 team to play in the semifinals?

After losing the first two important matches, the position of the team has changed. In the last two matches, we have seen them in their eternal spirit. But Pakistan has already reached the semi-finals, New Zealand's opponent's team is also weak and we all know this. In this situation, the Indian team has the calculated math theory to go to the semi-finals, but will they be able to go? What do you think?

After bitter loss with two matches, the Indian cricket fans got frustrated and even stopped watching. However we have the chance to enter the semi finals if the clash between Afghanistan and New Zealand slated for tomorrow comes in our favor. Here if Afghanistan team wins the match then we are alive to semi race. And if New Zealand plays good cricket and defeat Afghanistan then we are kicked out of tournament. While Pakistan already in Semis, we are placed at the fourth spot in group, and of course we have net returns of runs that is better than all teams. For us there is a compulsion to win match against Namibia and that should be based on Afghanistan win margin over New Zealand tomorrow. So suddenly we are with begging bowl seeking and praying Afghanistan to win to take obvious revenge with Pakistan in semis.

By remote chance we may enter into semi-finals if Afghanistan beats Newzeland in tomorrow's match. The chances are very bleak and New Zealand is a very strong team when compared to Afghanistan. New Zealand has every chance to get into the finals. It is very pretty pity that our team is unable to beat either Pakistan or New Zealand in the initial matches. A strong team like India with its poor planning unable to overcome or even gave a proper fight against both the teams.

India's first two games have been ordinary and lost both games from Pakistan and New Zealand. The losses brought down their morale and they were under pressure until the last two games that they have won comprehensively and improved their net run rate which was crucial for the team. Team India's semi-final hopes are still alive if they win the match against Namibia and Afghanistan best New Zealand in their upcoming matches. India's match against Namibia won't be difficult to win but a concern that can dash the hope of the Indian cricket team is New Zealand. If Afghanistan beats New Zealand then we are in the semifinals! But if New Zealand wins there are no chances and India has to pack back home!

There are hardly any chances of India reaching semi-finals. This could only be possible if Afghanistan wins match against New Zealand tomorrow. However, New Zealand is a strong team and they will try their best to win against Afghanistan. Afghanistan, on the other hand will try their best to reach semi-finals for the first time. Having good run rate in points table, Afghanistan would get advantage of it if they thrash New Zealand tomorrow. And then, India will have to defeat Namibia with a big margin.

That depends on the result of the match that will be played tomorrow between New Zealand and Afghanistan. Afghanistan has to win with a small margin. Then India has to win its next match with a good margin, Then India may go to semifinals. But in my opinion it is a very difficult task and expecting this to happen is a greed I think. The team management has taken the first two matches lightly and thought that the cup is there for them only. That is a big mistake which costed them heavily. Why Rohit was not sent as opener in the second match is not known. Why Ashwin was not considered for the first two matches is also not known. The team captain and head coach and other think tank of the team should explain to the whole nation the reasons for this.

Indian team has the huge responsibility to play for the country and must brace up to restore the lost glory through which the fans were upset when we lost matches.

Yesterday Afghanistan lost its match with New Zeeland and with that a place for New Zeeland in the semifinals is confirmed. Already Pakistan reached the semifinals. So there are no chances for India to reach the semifinals. India will have to come back. The way they played in the first two matches cost them the cup. I think the players should have understood the mistakes they have made and hope they will not forget the lessons they have learned in this tournament in future.
