This time some Indian uncapped players were also sold out at a very high price. Some senior players were sold out for a less amount. Some junior players got a very high price. What are the reasons? Only buyers can tell.
West Indian players also got a good price. Probably their record in the country matches and other matches that they played are good and that made the buyers invest more money on their heads. Many of the West Indian players are very hard hitters and they can make the matches turn around.
This time West Indian cricketers were in demand. Chris Gayle is not there and we will big be missing his batting. Caribbean charm is still there. Romario Shepherd and Odean Smith are expected to do well with their fast bowling skills and batting strengths.

The author has made nice dig at the level of cricket game down day by day as more commercial it has taken rather the player's individual performance and that is very surprising. Putting a huge risk of 12 cr on the head of Andrew is really disgusting. What made the IPL to offer such huge amount when performing players are kept out and not performers sold at high price. And what is more surprising is the list of unknown players whose bounty has been increased for no reasons. It seems IPL has failed to recognize the performance of formidable players and they missed out in the list. If this kind of selection has been made, soon the reputation of IPL matches is at stake and none would watch the matches. The over confidence of IPL and board for getting advance sponsorship is making their heads turn on unusual happenings.

West Indies Cricket board are not paying proper salaries to their Cricketers because their cricketer's performance is not up to the mark. Same as with SLC Board too... I think something is fishy... Even Afghan players are also part of IPL......
Even if these players who are playing for IPL are underperforming for the sake of India in International matches will not be removed from the team in their respective teams because they are the reputed players for their country...

IPL is totally a commercial activity. The main idea behind high bidding prices is to recover it through the earnings made by IPL through advertisements and other earnings. There is a lot of money in this game and the organisers know from their experience what would be the tentative return on their investment. The prices are generally determined by the individual players history rather than the team in which they had played when they participated in the matches between various cricket playing countries. Every time same thing happens in the bidding process. This time the rates appear to be on higher side but it is probably due to the receding wave of corona pandemic in most of the places around the globe and that could be a clue to give an indication that more revenue will be generated in IPL in coming times.

@ commercial activity How are the other cricket boards are allowing to play them in a commercial activity?
What about the fitness and Injury problems plus of a player the additional virus health issues?
As the players are saying Bio bubble is difficult when playing international matches but how that will be easy in playing IPL?
