    Why companies participate in job fairs instead of searching for candidates in colleges?

    When scores of students, especially from B com, BBA and other streams, are not finding the right job after passing out from colleges, as the campus interviews seldom happens, it is ironic to watch so many companies participating in job fairs when some media organizes the same as if they missed the right choice and now they would get it. Each college should have active PR with related companies so that whatever vacancies occur, it can be communicated to the colleges and the right candidates can be selected forthwith.

    I think practically it is not possible to go to every degree college and select people. Here the students should have more interest than the companies. A company is offering jobs for the people who are interested and efficient. So the students should go to the places wherever they conduct written tests and interviews. Many colleges will not even have a placement cell. So companies can't write to all colleges. The colleges should write to companies to conduct campus interviews in their colleges. Only corporate and standard colleges will do that. Many government colleges never bother about these issues. It is good that some organisations coming out and organising job fairs and providing a common platform for the job aspirants and the companies. Earlier days we all know that companies were published in newspapers and candidates who sees those advertisements apply and attend interviews if he was called. The present system of job fairs is much better than the other earlier practices.

    Recently visited a degree college and found passed out students with placements list has only two big companies names and no mention of other companies.

    It is a good practice when the companies conducting Campus interviews. The companies should encourage students in order to get jobs. Training should be given to new aspirants in companies so that they can stick with the company for more years which is beneficial for both company and employees.
