Although it is easy to get nominated, it is difficult to get Nobel Peace Prize?

As you know, the way to get nominated is to send a letter or email to the Norwegian Nobel Committee. You do not have permission to apply but you can get many personnel around you who can nominate you for the same. Nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize can be made by a former Nobel laureate, any member of the government cabinet, university chancellors, and many more. Just send a letter or email to the Nobel Committee before 1st February of the year and explain why he or she thinks you are eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize.
But just because you have been recommended and you will get the reward is not correct. To win the prize you need to win the hearts of the special panel of the Nobel Committee. You really have to make a unique contribution to peace. Many people from all over the world send nominations but only one gets what they deserve. So it is very difficult to get a novel award nowadays.

It's not a movie award nomination for best actor nominee e.t.c... I don't think it is easy as one University Chancellor proposed for a nominee you will be nominated for Noble peace. I think anyone can try to Nominate by taking the help of the university chancellor because in each district there are more than 3-4 universities and those chancellors may know lakhs of people if we request who is close to chancellor can nominate you for Noble peace...

Everyone should observe the nature of the Graphite structure because a Graphite has only a tendency to convert into diamond under tremendous temperature and pressure.

No invitation is required to get nominated for the noble peace award. Any person who meets the criteria given by the committee can nominate a person for a peace award. The various people who can nominate cnaidiates are.
1. Members of national and state governments can nominate any person for the award.
2. Members of The International Court of Justice in The Hague and The Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague can nominate any candidate.
Similarly, there are another 7 to 8 categories that can nominate a person. An individual can't apply for himself. Who nominated whom will not be disclosed for 50 years after nomination. These days there is an online facility also for submission of application.
So it is not that difficult to get nominated for the noble peace prize. But getting selected for the award is a very tough task. There will be a committee of 5 members who have to carry out a lot of investigation and carry out a procedure for selecting the final candidate.

Mahatma Gandhi was nominated for Nobel Prize in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947, and finally in 1948, only, a few days before he was assassinated in January 1948. But he could never receive the coveted prize.

Dr.KA Paul was nominated seven times but was not able to get the Noble peace award.Its very sad. Dr. Paul is the founder of the Global Peace Initiative and has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by the Government of India. He is the only private citizen who speaks in national parliaments, as when he addressed the African Burundi parliament in 2000. He had the President and the Speaker sitting on the floor with 100 parliamentarians when he addressed the Muslim north Sudan parliament after working hard to bring peace and lift sanctions in October 2011. His Peace Rallies and conferences have been conducted from “A" Argentina to “Z" Zambia.

Good post from the author. Nobel Peace Prize is the most coveted recognition across the world and it is not that easy to get that unless and until some formidable progress on peace was initiated. Though the Nobel is given for different fields, the peace prize is the most regarded one. And getting nominated is not that easy as getting selected to a tv channel awards annual event which is always considered through recommendations and popularity. Moreover the person or the organization with International repute are being nominated every year by the Nobel Committee gets lots of nominees to which there should be some credence to support and agree. And not only greater support from the country the person hails but also should have the International backing of the contribution towards the good of mankind and that is important.

@756271 when K A Paul nomination was rejected seven times by the Nobel Committee , that itself amply proves that there is no substance of getting nominated by vested interest being the follower of him but does not have popular support at the Committee.

Nobel prize for peace is a very prestigious and high level award bestowed on the deserving people. It is obvious that the nobel prize committee goes through all the details about the person and his real and practical contributions to the society for making efforts in attaining peace and harmony not only in a limited local level but also for a larger cross section across the country or common area between the different countries.
Sometime there are many number of eligible candidates for the Nobel peace prize but the committee will have to select one among them who is the best suitable and deserving candidate. Of course some genuine and other good candidates will stand a chance of getting it in the subsequent years.
The committee maybe doing its best in selecting the awardee but as it is a matter of judgement there can be some discrepancy in selecting the best one.

Knowledge is power.

Although it is easy to get nominated, it is difficult to get Nobel Peace Prize?
