When the change is inevitable, we cannot lag behind
Right from the childhood till today the transformation that took place around me was baffling, not that I am witness to those happenings but I was also carried along with the system that changed over the period of 60 years, When we are doing schooling the meter gauge trains were running with steam engine of 6 coaches and there would be huge smoke and pollution as and when the train passed through our station. And those engines could not pull goods trains of 60 coaches and thus limited carriage goods trains were operated. Then came the diesel engines which were good but also emanated the smoke while going in speed. And the pulling capacity was good but the compartments used to give lots of shake being on the meter gauge. Then the transformation of meter gauge to broad gauge has been done and the bigger version of engines were made to operate to pull 21 passenger coaches. Then came the DEMU- the diesel hauled Multiple units and that was famous for having vestibule facilities between the coaches. And now we are enjoying the engines with power and the speed is formidable and there is no breakdown of service at any time. So the transformation in Railways was inevitable and we are also part of that great phase of happenings. This is my entry to Last of week of July 2022 topic "Inevitable"
