The Asia cup cricket tournament was over. Indian team started the journey in this tournament as the favourites. But not able to reach even finals and were eliminated in the super 4 round itself. Pakistan and Srilanka reached the finals. Srilanka won the cup.

Pakistan won the toss and asked Srilanka to bat first. Srilanka scored 170 runs by losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Pakistan failed to chase the given target and they were all out in 20 overs and scored only 147 runs. So Srilanka won the match by a marking of 23 runs.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 71 runs in 45 balls and bagged the man of the match award. Wanindu Hasaranga is the man of the series.

I congratulate Srilanka fo winning the title. I hope the other members will join me to congratulate the team.

This was a great contest between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Both teams played well to reach the finals of the Asia cup 2022. Sir Lanka wasn't even considered the favourites in the tournament but turned out to be the winners of the Asia cup 2022. A complete new young team played great cricket throughout the tournament.

In the finals, Pakistan looked in complete control of the game in the first 8 overs when Srilanka were 5 wickets down with 45 runs on board but Srilanka after 10 overs changed the scenario of the game and scored 171 in 20 overs.

This total was challenging for Pakistan and it is always difficult to chase the target in the second innings. Rizwan played good cricket but was not good enough to win the match. His strike rate wasn't good while chasing the target. The required rate kept increasing and pressure was building on Pakistan to play some big hits to bring the run rate under control. But Srilankan bowlers bowled brilliantly and didn't allow Pakistan to score runs and left them dry. With the result, Srilanka clinched the Asia cup 2020 by 23 runs and Pakistan were bowled out for 147 runs.

Srilanka deserve this victory they played sensible cricket. At first, it looked like Pakistan was in control but it was Srilanka who hold their nerves and won the finals of the Asia Cup 2022.

Congratulations to Srilanka for this massive win. This win will be a moral booster for Srilanka in the upcoming world cup T20 matches.
