Can the Indian Team afford to be on Cloud nine in Cricket

There are too many millions of fans who go on talking about all the pluses of the Indian Cricket Team. They often point out that if one batsman fails, some other person chips in. The best example is Dinesh Karthik.

However, even during the recent series, there were glaring problems. The bowlers let down the country more than once. They were simply not so effective against the South Africans. One is told that the Australian pitches will be even more challenging.

Can we afford to be on Cloud nine, as we are at the moment? If no, what are the problem areas that need to be addressed very quickly and how do we go about addressing these issues?

Members who are real experts in following the game of cricket with all the finer details, may share their views.

As mentioned, by the author the Indian team as of now more strong om batting but bowling side has to improve a lot. There are many good bowlers, but they are not consistent. Because of that the selection committee, the coach and the captain are not able to decide on whom to have in the team and who should be kept outside. In earlier days, there were some bowlers we were performing very well always. Kapildev. Chetan Sarma, Bedi, Prasanna, Chandrasekhar, Roger Biny etc., are some such bowlers. Fielding is also to be improved. One should not leave any chance that is coming in his way. Then only we will have chances of winning the tournaments.
There are many players of yesteryears in BCCI these days. They should think and plan a good training program to the bowlers and under the supervision of their bowling coach. That may help a lot to the bowlers to know their strengths and weaknesses and improve their weaknesses and convert them as their strong points
