    A welcome decision by BCCI

In the olden days, all women used to confine themselves to the kitchens and male domination was prevailing. But slowly change is taking place and women started participating in all activities. These days we are seeing females doing much better than men in many areas including games and sports also. But still, there are some disparities still.

All these days the match fee for men cricketers is less than that of the same for male cricketers. Slowly many countries started paying equal amounts to both genders and no disparity is shown. New Zealand announced equal fees for male and female cricketers. Today BCCI announced that they are going to pay equally to men and women playing in international matches.

This is a welcome decision. My appreciation to BCCI for the same. Hope all other members also join me in welcoming the decision from BCCI.

In the modern times women are taking up all sorts of jobs and have come out of their earlier image of remaining confined to four walls of the house. In this situation it is imperative that their remunerations and fees against work done by them should be at par with that of men. In that respect the decision of BCCI is very timely and deserves praise.
This decision will also act as an eye opener for many business houses and organisations where differentiation between the salaries of men and women is made.

    Knowledge is power.

Undoubtedly, both the genders are equally competent and the potential of the girls in the past time could not be fully known to many of their relatives including their parents since the girls were not allowed to go beyond the kitchen boundaries to demonstrate their capabilities. Later, they were allowed to go ahead to schools for their general educations. Currently we can see that how effectively these lady folks are managing everything with their sufficient exposure in all the fields which were earlier not thought of.
If they are competent lawyers, doctors, teachers and cricket players, why should be there discrimination in relation to less payments? The decision of BCCI in this regard is encouraging.
