Medicine from the Sky project
In our country, various state governments launch various innovative projects/programmes/ schemes for the development of people of the respective state. Some of the development programmes become very famous and even international bodies praise such development projects for innovative ideas and successful implementation (One such example: Kanyashree scheme of West Bengal Government which has been given international recognition by the United Nations Department of International Development and the UNICEF).Like other Indian states, north-eastern states also launch and manage various developmental schemes, some of which are very innovative and popular. But, very unfortunately, these innovative schemes don't get any recognition even after successful implementation.
Very recently, the current BJP Government in Arunachal Pradesh has lodged an exceptionally innovative welfare project. The name of the project is 'Medicine from the Sky'. This project aims to deliver essential life-saving medicines and medical products through drone service, saving valuable time and distance coverage. 'Medicine from the sky' pilot project drone service has been launched by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
'Medicine from the sky' is a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first successful flight was conducted from Seppa to Chaoyang Tajo in the East Kameng district of the state. This pilot project is a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to introduce new technologies in the health care sector of India. The project is also part of Bharat Drone Mahotsav.
I wish complete success of this extremely innovative welfare project initiated by the Arunachal Pradesh Government. Successful implementation of this project will provide answer to medical problems of people living in remote areas of this sparsely populated state. Further, it would introduce new technologies in medical sector. Other Indian states may also start this type of innovative scheme using drones.
