Tamil Nadu is number one again

The India Today group has now conducted a survey of the best administered States in India. It is a matter of pride that Tamil Nadu is right on top. Whether it is the care that was taken to proactively deal with the record rains due to cyclones in the State, public health, or industrial development, the highly dynamic Chief Minister, Mr. M.K. Stalin has made the entire country sit up and take notice. The fiscal deficit has now come down and inflation is the lowest in the country. The Public Distribution System has been rated on par with Kerala, another State that has done very well.

We are able to see a big difference now. The pace of development has improved. The vast number of industrial projects on the ground and the ambitious programs for Personality Development of Government school children have been noticed by all, There have been encouraging reports of progress in agriculture as well.

May Stalin continue the good work.

Good to know that Tamilnadu is progressing well under the dynamic leadership of Stalin. I hope he will continue his good work and see that Tamilnadu will be at the top of the list made based on the development of the State. When Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh, the stood first always in development. Later on, when he became the Chief Minister of Residuary Andhra Pradesh, he saw that this state will be number one always. The government of each state should compete with the governments of other states and see that their state will be number one. But unfortunately, that competitive spirit is not seen. All leaders want to be in power and develop themselves and never worry about the state. Such leaders should learn from leaders like Naidu and understand the importance of development.

I have no intention to demean the good work being carried out by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and his team, but would like to mention here that while Tamil Nadu has been adjudged as the 'best performing big state' in the survey conducted by India Today, we should also know that there are many other categories in which different states have stood first. For example, Goa is the 'best performing small state', Assam is the 'most improved big state' and Manipur is the 'most improved small state'. There are many other firsts in different categories. What I want to say, and it is a suggestion to the author, is that while it is okay to highlight a particular state, courtesy demands us to be fair and to give out the complete picture instead of being choosy.

India is having a large number of states and union territories. It is true that some of the states including Tamil Nadu are developing and progressing in a fast pace and good work is being done there. The credit is definitely attributable to the leader of the respective state.
Today all the states are getting a very good support from the central government and all the funds are being released in time including the GST part. So it us obvious that when funds are available in plenty and leadership is good then the state must progress ahead.

    Knowledge is power.

Saji Sir, I did not mean to run down the achievement of other States. The focus of my thread itself was only on Tamil Nadu. It was not in other States. I just wanted to highlight where we did very well. That is all. Yes, I also know that there are other categories where we are not No.1.

Even in higher education, though our record is very good, Kerala has a far better record at the elementary level. And population control is a far better proposition in Kerala. However, with one party famously occupying the major political space with a sort of social engineering, focus on just one major religion, and the kind of atrocities done in terms of favoritism, are all imbalances in development. For example, there are so AIIMS now being functional in UP. But beyond the foundation stone, nothing has happened in Madurai.

And Tamil Nadu is so strong in the service sector, only because of the massive mobility of people. There is a fabulous network of buses that touch every remote village. You would also know that it is the most urbanized State in India since all the urban conglomerations happen because of their proximity to district headquarter towns, that are fully developed. One feeds the other, leading to massive development.

A huge number of engineers, for example, join numerous big companies as apprentices. They get trained and then move on to regular jobs, even in Pune, New Delhi, and so on. Since I know the situation on the ground, I know thousands who have settled through this route. The India Today issue cannot speak about the finer details, as the finer details can fill five books of at least fifty thousand words in each of them.
