Present science proved already by India's Heritage

According to NASA, the distance of Sun from Earth has been defined recently as 'Earth orbits our Sun, a star. Earth is the third planet from the Sun at a distance of about 93 million miles that is nearly 150 million kilometres'.
But our Indian Saint Tulsidas, who lived between 1511 and 1623, wrote a poem Hanuman Chalisa in Awadhi language. In his 18th verse says,' Yug sahastra yojan per bhanu, Leelyo taahi madhur phal janu'
1 yug is equal to 12000 years; 1 sahastra means 1000, 1 yojan is equal to 8 miles.
Accordingly, yug x sahastra x yojan equal to par bhanu calculated as 12000x1000x8 miles which is equal to 96,000,000 miles. Further one mile is equal to 1.6 kilo meters so, the distance between sun and earth is 96000000 x 106 kilometres (1,536,000,000 kilometers)

The knowledge and information embedded in our holy books, scriptures, and other literature is testimony to the fact that some of our ancestors were great scholars and researchers who had done some basic calculations regarding the distances in the space between the various heavenly bodies which are easily seen by the naked eye and can be monitored throughout the year for their angular displacement and finding the distance using the simple trigonometry. It means that some form of mathematics was known by those people at that time using which they had made so many brilliant measurements which are today being confirmed by present day science.
The western world might get surprised on all these findings but the fact is that a lot of such knowledge is available in our scriptures. Unfortunately, those methodologies were not passed down to the next generations due to lack of media and other facilities but their mention and now confirmation by present day science itself is authenticating them.

    Knowledge is power.

That is true. There is plenty of knowledge in the store. But none of us knows what is there in it. Countries like Germany are making their students learn Sanskrit. We are making our children learn English. That is the reason. As a matter of fact, foreigners are learning from our epics and Vedas. But we never make any attempt at this. The main reason may be the poverty of the people We want our education for employment. Eventhough some people learn some parts of these Vedas, they just use it as a way of earning but they never know what is there in it. Some people may make some portions of these collections by heart but they may not know what is the meaning of those portions.
In Indian ancient books, there are many issues related to astrology and our Veda Pandits are able to predict Sun rise and Sun set very accurately and also Eclipses are also being predicted very accurately. But the present generation has no knowledge of that line.

We Indian are lucky enough to have got different famous mathematicians such as Bharat Muni, Manava, Panini, Katyana, Pingla and other scholars having taken so much efforts to calculate the complex mathematical problems which we solve currently in the form of equations in Algebra and also we might different ways of calculations of the different planets from the earth with the easiest approach.
Though, Trigonometry, Algebras, Geometry came into existence later but our old pundits of Mathematics applied Arithmetic conveniently to arrive at the final results. The present generation should take note of their talents they applied in science and mathematics.

We are missing Baraha Mihira, Khana, Sridhar Acharya, Arya Bhatta, Brahma Gupta and Kanad.

Bharat Muni is known for classical dances like Bharatnatyam and Panini is famous for Sanskrit Grammar.
