The Alumni should always do something for their schools and colleges

Those who study in Government schools and colleges often go on to become very good citizens. They also hold very good jobs with good salaries.

In many cases, Government institutions need resources. Those who are very rich can sponsor at least part of the expenditure towards, say, free food given to very poor students who study in such institutions. We always need to give back to society, since it is the same society that gives us all the resources at any point in time. For example, even providing a good RO plant by pooling resources will enable the Government school or college students to get drinking water on a sustained basis.

The schools should also maintain good relationships with their Alumni and be in touch.

This is happening in many places. In 2003, our batch of students who left the high school in 1961, donated a water cooler, furniture, and an NRI constructed one room. Still, we are doing something or the other like scholarships to deserving students. We have donated Rs150000/ to Akshaya Petra Organisation which is distributing midday meals in some schools.

That is true and the alumni of educational institutions should see that the institute where they studied will help many other students for a better future. The alumni can donate in cash or kind for creating amenities in the institution so that good students will join that institute.
These days many alumni associations are very active and doing very good work for the development of the institution.
The high school in which I studied is having this association and this association has contributed to constructing a building and making some new furniture.
The junior college I studied is also having an alumni association and the association contributed some money to the development of the library.
The college in which I did my undergraduate is also having alumni and the association is doing a very good service for the college in many areas we had a meeting on the 17th of the month.
The university in which I did my PG and PhD is also having this association. They are people who donated good amounts for the development of the university.

Some students are very meritorious and obtain their degrees with flying colours. Generally they will get good jobs and progress in their lives. Those who become financially well off can definitely donate some amount to their school or college where they had studied. That is the best gesture an alumni can present to the educational institute where the foundation of his knowledge was laid and seeds of his 'career making' were sown.
Many alumni are extending financial help to their schools and colleges while some alumni are helping their schools or colleges in a very big way also.

In all the schools, there are meritorious students passing out their final examinations with impressive scorings and even make place in the societies. They occupy key posts in the different organisations and they are really holding special positions in our society. They can occupy the position of alumni of their passed out institutions helping in the student's fund with a liberal donation for raising its standard. The school management can utilise such a resource for purchasing additional books in the library, offering scholarships to the deserving candidates, arranging mid day meals among the financially deprived students.
Of course, these alumni are playing their significant roles in raising the standards of their institutions from where they have passed but others, too, come out with liberal donations to afford these institutions to carry out their welfare schemes for the students.

Once I went to a Government run hospital in Odisha during 1983 and when discussing about the facilities I was informed by the medical officer that the incoming attendants as patients are very less as projected. And further he told that without coming to the Government hospitals many are commenting that the treatment in Government Hospitals are poor. Similar view was given by another Government official in Chennai also that though some discrepancies in government hospitals, it should be bring to the notice of higher ups only by seeing but mere vague complaints could not be attended. This is one way correct as similar to that many people telling the Government Schools are not up to the mark in teaching etc., but if one go to the government schools as a parent or student only can understand the kindness and teaching of teachers and others. One girl studying in a private school telling me one day that her mother told that only poor people are studying in the government schools. Many people are creating such scenes.
