Road accidents are on the increasing trend

It is a huge tragedy to read about the road accidents in the newspapers and see such incidents on the roads. It is told that the number of new driving licenses being issued are increasing year by year and the the accidents are also increasing almost in the same proportion. Many young persons speed their vehicles and drive erratically frightening the pedestrians and others frightened.

In today's newspaper I read that accident level in Tamil Nadu has increased to 15384 in the year 2021 whereas the same was 10525 in 2019.

Today evening, while returning to my house, I saw three persons in a car. They were in a jovial mood and were talking and laughing. Suddenly the driver appeared to have lost control over the vehicle and it hit the two wheelers parked on the side of the street. When the people on the road questioned them, they were least bothered and were still in a happy mood. They just reversed their vehicle and sped away as if nothing had happened.

No promulgation can prevent this type of accidents/ incidents unless such persons are punished severely and for this the police personnel and other related officials should view this issue seriously.

Author is cent percent right. I too also put up in Singara Chennai.

Every day I see one way or the other, either over speeding the vehicle, rash driving, driving without sense, all these core factors leads to an accident.

Apart from the above much worrying factor is talk while driving, especially youth and office goers.

Women blindly crossing the roads without seeing all the sides of the roads leads to an accident.

We all can see many times, in case of any traffic jam, two wheelers threatening pedestrians into the threat.

Many times police personnel are mute spectators only, due to the work pressure, extra work load makes them fatigue, health hazards.

Here self discipline only can bring changes.

We cannot criticize police personnel but the lack is in our side. Women may think otherwise when talking about the women driving. The extra stress fall on ladies as they are the backbone of a family and if a man got hurts house ladies took more care but if one lady got hurts everybody just blinks out for help.

Increasing road accidents are a matter of grave concern and it is a big threat to the pedestrians and vehicles which are parked on the roadside or isolated corners.
Rash drivers especially the younger ones derive an exciting pleasure by driving in high speeds. It helps them in increasing their adranilin levels and they feel happy about it. These young people are not bothered for the consequences of high speed driving especially through the crowded and narrow sections.
Simply having government regulations and punishing these people will not help and this has to be addressed at the home level itself. Parents as well as society should observe these rash drivers and confront them outside as well in the house so that they feel ashamed of it. We have to create a social awareness about it and then only the combined effect of social awareness and government regulations will yield a positive result.

    Knowledge is power.

Road accidents have multiplied manifold these days due to negligent driving especially the youngsters. They probably get a lot of thrill in speeding their cars and bikes. They hardly think of the ultimate consequences of such rash driving. Then there are other type of people who cannot control the speed of their cars and bikes due to their heavy drinking loosing almost their sense to control the speed of their cars/ bikes. In that sense alcoholism is the chief cause of endangering the lives of others while driving their cars.
There cannot be any improvement unless government frames strict rules to punish such defaulters. Punishment should be such that others could refrain from doing such rash driving.

Everywhere this is the problem. Road traffic is increasing. Four-wheelers and two-wheelers are on raise. As the number of private vehicles increases, automatically roads are always crowdy only. Everybody thought the traffic will come down once the metro trains are introduced. But nothing such sort happened. Many cars are being driven by the owner only. They are not professional drivers and can't afford a professional driver to drive their vehicles. So the chances of accidents are on increase.
Many of the youth are not perfect at their driving and at the same time, they don't want to take any precautions. Because of this also we are hearing about road accidents. Drink and driving is another issue and we see this more at night. As mentioned by the other authors self-discipline is very important for avoiding these unwanted accidents,
