Not just us - birds and animals too can dance and sing

Who says singing and dancing are for us humans alone? Just like us, some of the bird and animal species are also adept at these artistic activities. Wondering which these species are! Here we go. Amongst the birds' canaries, nightingales, robins and blackbirds are very popular for their sweet singing. However, you will not get them singing, whenever you wish. They have their own preferences. The famed nightingale mostly sings during early morning, early evening and late night (reason for its unique name perhaps). The best tunes and melodies can be heard when the birds are in the wild and not in captivity.

As for animals, not many of them are as efficient as birds. Amongst them are whales, seals, elephants and some primates. Whales, the humpback, baleen or beluga kind, even have their own hit songs. We have heard frogs croaking, especially during the mating seasons. They croak in a rhythmic way that can last for hours at a stretch. Not to forget insects like crickets whose singing we are all familiar with.

As for dancing, there are many candidates on both the bird's and the animal's side. Peacocks dance to attract peahens, cockatoos shake their head to the tunes of Backstreet Boys and Michael Jackson and the Manakin bird of Colombia is famous for its moonwalk-like dance.

Even honeybees are known for their waggle dance through which they communicate with each other. Their dance was first noticed centuries back by Aristotle and was later investigated by Karl von Frisch, a Noble Prize winner. Such examples are plenty. Researchers once observed a sea lion named Ronan swinging to rhythmic music. Then there are plenty of apes and monkeys, who could easily swing a leg or two when their choicest music is played.

Thanks to the author for the information he has given about the singing and dancing habits of animals and birds. That is true. Birds and animals can also sing and dance. But probably they don't know using musical instruments. They may not conduct concerts. The voices of some birds will be very sweet and we love hearing their voice. The dance of male peacocks is pleasant and it will be a feast for our eyes. Many of us might have seen dancing snacks when music is played
