State Governors should know their limits
The Governor of a highly developed South Indian State has gone to the extent of questioning the validity of the name of the State. The resolution to rename the State was taken long ago; it was even passed in Parliament. He has gone on to blame the people of the State virtually blaming them to have an independent streak, straightly hinting at the fact that the political philosophy of the State has been dictated by the two major political parties that have ruled the State for decades. The fact is that these two parties have really done exceedingly well in providing all the basics. The literacy rate has gone up by leaps and bounds. The IT majors simply go to the thirty-odd branded engineering colleges and pick up the brightest minds for their manpower requirements. I have directed at least two hundred graduates to take up the apprenticeship in the major metro city of the State that has a massive auto component industry. Within 18 months, they are picked up by the original equipment manufacturers at high salaries in different parts of India and even abroad.
Population control measures have been adopted for decades. The State has the highest enrolment figures in higher education in the entire country. The State Governors should act within their limits and not as agents of those in power at the New Delhi headquarters of a political party that would engineer splits in the Opposition and comes to power at any cost.
The current trend is deplorable.
