We create traffic congestion but criticize others

In many cities and even in small towns the traffic congestion is common nowadays. This is simply because of erratic driving, parking the vehicles haphazardly amidst other vehicles etc. I have seen many two wheeler riders riding on the footpath to cross the congestion. This creates further confusion but does not solve the problem.

Recently I read a news report that the traffic congestion in a particular place was due to a temple situated on the roadside. People do not care for the traffic rules and ride, drive and walk as they please.

Unless otherwise we correct ourselves in such situations the problem cannot be solved even by strict punishments by the government and no Government can correct this erratic situation by itself.

Every citizen of our country has a role in nation-building and the betterment of society. There are many things that one has to contribute to make this world a good place to live. Unfortunately, many people only bother with themselves and do not worry about others. It is happening in all the areas. The same is true and is happening in the traffic scenario in our country. Everyone is in a hurry to reach their destination in the quickest possible time without bothering about whether it will be inconvenient for others or not.
Govt can punish the traffic violators but that is only a temporary measure because until the person himself is not aware of the traffic hazards and wants to contribute to smooth traffic flow no improvement would be there from a long-term perspective.
Doing mistakes oneself and blaming others will never help in such matters.

What the author says is very true. We violate the rules and we criticise others if they violate the rules. In India, many people think that they are exempted from many rules and regulations. Some people think that they have some special relaxation for them.
We never use public transport but expect others to use public transport. We can many people going very fast in their vehicles as if some serious thing is going to happen in no time. Many people park their vehicles in non-parking areas. We never worry about the lanes and their importance.
Because of these issues only we see traffic problems on roads. There will be a free left, but a vehicle that has to go straight will block that way and all the vehicles that have to take a left turn should also wait. Such an attitude is the reason for traffic congestion on roads. If everybody follows traffic rules without any deviation, the traffic problems will get reduced to a lot of extents. But that is not possible in the present trend.

Traffic congestion is a problem all over the country. It creates problems for not only pedestrians but those who are driving on the roads following the traffic rules. It creates huge choas on the roads and sometimes even ambulances get stuck in traffic congestion which may result in the loss of someone's life!

Why does traffic congestion takes place? We are all responsible for blocking roads by wrong parking, walking on the road and not allowing others to pass, and not following traffic norms is a big impediment in traffic congestion. Following traffic rules and acting responsibly so that nobody should suffer on the road. This should be everyone's motive while moving on the roads.

Drive safely, walk carefully, and allow others to move ahead smoothly. Always take care of other people on the road and do not hurt anyone with your rash driving or unruly behaviour! Traffic congestion is a mess, streamline it and make it bliss!
