Why Chinese products sold here are not durable

I think there will be more concurrence than disagreement about the title content. Most of us would have one or more experience about the non-durability of Chinese products whether it is the 5 or10 rupees palm size led torchlight or the bigger and higher cost items like TV, fridge, Induction cooker, smartphone etc.
And the irony is that Chinese products conquered the markets world all over and earned a lot of revenue for their country of origin-China. The reason for their success was that most of the products were sold damn cheap in comparison to the durable and costlier branded products of the same item.
In contrives like India and others where people are aware of the latest utility products and their usage helping to add convenience and ease to daily life, but have not that much money to buy-they find Chinese products as a boon as they can buy the items at a fraction of the premier branded product. Users feel that it is enough if the Chinese products stay just durable and usable only up to a minimum period to make the buy 'value-for-money' deal.

In India we had only Nokia, Motorola and Samsung in smartphones initially. They were not at the reach of ordinary person or daily wage laborer. But the coming of cheap (but not that much durable obviously) changed the situation and every one could afford to buy a smartphone.
That is why even now the Chinese phones are around and selling well. Though there is a question of moral and ethics in copyrights etc. the moot question is why local manufacturers do not enter to manufacture durable, original but affordable products in our own country?
The answer has to be found and 'Made in India' products should come out more and more joint understanding and co-operation of government, industry and citizen with necessary essential nationalist sense and spirit.

Chinese Govt and Chinese business houses very well know how to do business in outside countries. China has a large workforce as regards making small toys and amusement items. These workers have good efficiency and are much more motivated to do their work. The strange thing is that in China there is no age barrier for any work we can find even young people doing the same work as old people are doing especially in the context of making small amusement items. They make it in very large quantities and try to dump it in the markets abroad. China has a big domestic market as well as a good presence in foreign markets. What they do is that they make all sorts of quality items and in the same category we will find an item having a high cost and another item having a low cost so the difference will be in quality. What they generally do is they will export good quality items to the countries where people can afford to buy them like the US and some European countries but when they export to Asian or African countries they will export only the low to medium-quality items. These low-quality items are very cheap and people in the third world buy them with interest and awe.

One can have either chicken or egg but can't have both. The same is the case with these Chinese products also. There are people who wanted to purchase items for a lower cost. For such people, Chinese products are available at a cheaper price. India is having a big market and China is taking advantage. They are dumping their seconds in India and selling them at a lower price. Lower prices and quality will never go hand in hand.

The labour in China is cheap but in India the same is costly. So we are not able to match their prices, But the Indian products are better in quality and their durability will be more than that of China Products.

There are some standard products from China also which are costly. These are more used by industries in bulk. China is making money from those sales also.

Perfect thought and a cover for the TOW word. We usually tend to buy cheaper stuff. There are 2 mindsets, the 1st that thinks that the product should be durable and the 2nd one thinks that it should work and be cheap. Some even think that even if the product is not that durable, it should be fine for 6 months to a year which works for them. It is time that we encourage "Make in India" and try to come up with products that are durable, cheaper and can compete with international brands.

It is of course the Chinese items sold here are very cheap that they are not durable. After all, quality does not come cheap. It is however true that the Chinese also make quality items like for example the nail cutters that they sell here or the LED string lights that we use during Diwali, the costly ones though. These lights last for years. and do not seem to get spoiled. About mobile phones too, everyone these days prefer purchasing a Chinese phone as they have the best features, work very well and are value for money. They may not last long, but then who bothers? One would anyway change them within a year or two, as by then they will get backdated, the way technology is changing so fast these days. No wonder Chinese mobile companies are ruling the roost in India and elsewhere.

The products produced and marketed by China are really somewhat fantastic to attract the consumers. One day my brother's daughter bought a small packets of some junk snacks packets costs each five rupees. One packet contains some snacks and a tiny toy in that. We wonder how it would come for five rupees. If they are giving that packet for five rupees means what must be the cost of production. If we are thinking in that way we have to believe their motto is to cover the market only. They are dumping the market with their products irrespective of the durability.

Chinese people know the nerves of the customers and the products are made according to the prevailing demand of the markets. Chinese products though might not be so durable but the customers are looking out for the cheap versions of such mobile phones to get the best out of the money spent on such products. The durability of the cheap mobile phones produced by China is really popular in terms of sales and quality though they might not be as durable as the products of India but cheapness is the main factor for its popularity.

There are a lot of other items which could be damn cheap and has enough demand from the customers of our country. It is because of our less purchasing capacity of costly items produced by India, though superior in terms of quality.
