Why Chinese products sold here are not durable
I think there will be more concurrence than disagreement about the title content. Most of us would have one or more experience about the non-durability of Chinese products whether it is the 5 or10 rupees palm size led torchlight or the bigger and higher cost items like TV, fridge, Induction cooker, smartphone etc.And the irony is that Chinese products conquered the markets world all over and earned a lot of revenue for their country of origin-China. The reason for their success was that most of the products were sold damn cheap in comparison to the durable and costlier branded products of the same item.
In contrives like India and others where people are aware of the latest utility products and their usage helping to add convenience and ease to daily life, but have not that much money to buy-they find Chinese products as a boon as they can buy the items at a fraction of the premier branded product. Users feel that it is enough if the Chinese products stay just durable and usable only up to a minimum period to make the buy 'value-for-money' deal.
In India we had only Nokia, Motorola and Samsung in smartphones initially. They were not at the reach of ordinary person or daily wage laborer. But the coming of cheap (but not that much durable obviously) changed the situation and every one could afford to buy a smartphone.
That is why even now the Chinese phones are around and selling well. Though there is a question of moral and ethics in copyrights etc. the moot question is why local manufacturers do not enter to manufacture durable, original but affordable products in our own country?
The answer has to be found and 'Made in India' products should come out more and more joint understanding and co-operation of government, industry and citizen with necessary essential nationalist sense and spirit.
