Inviting contributions to Social Village portal

Friends,

Recently the admin. mentioned in this thread that members can join and contribute articles on various topics at SocialVillage.in, while ISC will be developing into a new niche on academics.

I am honoured to have been appointed as a Webmaster for the time being and put in charge of SocialVillage.in. As a first step, over the last few months, I have been working to create unique categories for forum discussions. We now welcome members to register if they have not yet done so and start participating in the forum there, as well as contributing articles. Do encourage friends and others to join, too. We hope to make it a successful online portal and soon get AdSense approval as well.

Naturally, we expect you to continue your commitment to ISC by not neglecting contributions here!

Important Update (3rd Feb. 2023) Some of the articles that are not related to the new niche will be shifted to Social Village. This will apply to articles submitted by members who have not been active for many years now. The articles will, of course, be retained in the author's name only, but the points and cc will get deducted from the ISC account. Also, since payment for those articles has already been given here, it will not be counted at Social Village.

AdSense account can also works there or not? I hope all other members will also find some time to contribute there also. The Webmaster there can think of various ways and means to motivate the members there to contribute their maximum possible. I wish all success to the webmaster Vandana in her new role there. Leave aside a flow, we've not seen even a trickle coming in. Some of you have, in various threads, pointed to a drop in forum participation here. Why not spend some time at Social Village, then? Even articles on any topic are welcome there now, and not restricted to education as it is here.

I have also started contributing in social village. But last two days I could not go to that site as I was away from Hyderabad and a little busy. I will definitely keep visiting that and contribute.

Changes always cause confusion and unrest in us. But we must keep in mind that change is law of nature. Thus we need to evolve with changes in our web world. Indiastudychannel is going through such a change and I appreciate that. Let education and other miscellaneous topics be segregated. I will surely be adding my opinions and contents here and as well as in Social Village. My best wishes. And ofcourse, under the management of Vandana ma'am, Social Village is sure to gain good revenue soon.

Today (23 Feb 2023) morning when I visited Social Village site then I saw 'Make A Prediction' (MAP) contest related to the ICC T20 women tournament match between India and Australia scheduled for today evening.
I have just made my predictions about the match.
As activity in that site has recently picked up I thought to inform about that contest here so that members can quickly participate in that contest. The contest is closing today midnight.

Thanks for the initiative in encouraging members. The contest was for yesterday, before today's first semifinal, and the next one will be today, for tomorrow's second semifinal.

I am happy to inform members that Dr. Apurva, who earlier served as an Editor here, has taken over the reins of Social Village as Webmaster. Congratulations to Dr. Apurva! With the same competency in his role here, he will be managing that site with general support from me and we hope that, in due course of time, a team of editors will be appointed once the revenue and contributions start flowing in.

Dr. Apurva has started his role with a bang! With the goal to make it a fun, social site for all age groups, especially youngsters, there is now an FB and Insta page of Social Village, and he has made a slew of announcements, informing members of what to do (and what not, too!). We also have a Knowledge Centre there, and members are welcome to post their queries related to travel, finance, health, etc as per the instructions and guidelines.

So let's see some wonderful debates and discussions in the Social Village forum for a start, and contributions to the Knowledge Centre and articles as well.

Yes. I am also regularly visiting that site and spending some time there. Initially, there was some activity but in between the activity levels came down. Now with the changes and the new Web Master and his active participation may bring back the activity on that site. Let us hope and wish that Social Village will become one of the best sites for people to rely on. Contributions should increase from the members.

I have seen announcement by Dr Apurva Tamhane, WM of Social Village in this regard.
As a response there I had referred to the experts and veterans of ISC and hoped and requested that they can and would reactivate their creativity and expertise by posting content in Social Village and make Social Village also a successful site, leading to mutual benefits.
