Reading and understanding failure stories are also important for our success.

We will be telling many stories to children to make them understand the importance of values and ethics in life. At the same time, we will be telling them some stories that will inspire them to perform well. As the children grow up, they will start reading stories and understanding them.,

I have come across many elders who suggest children read success stories only. They say failure stories may create negativity in the minds of the children. But I have a different opinion. In addition to reading success stories. one should read failure stories also and understand them. This will help them to understand why somebody failed in their attempts and what correction is required to convert those failures into success stories. That will help us in improving our analytical thinking and failure analysis. These qualities are very much required for an individual to be successful. Members can share their views in this respect.

Analysis of failures and learning from them is a very important thing. Until unless we analyse our failures how we would improve in future.
I strongly think that parents should encourage their children not only for going through success stories but also a few stories about failures in life. Once they understand the reasons of failures then they can think for remedial actions regarding that so that such failures do not repeat.
It is said that people who keep track of reasons of their failures generally are more successful in their careers.

    Knowledge is power.

We should not ignore our failures and a due analysis is required to be done to pinpoint such failures. If we carry out such analysis of our failures, we could identify the root cause of the entire situations leading to failures. Success stories provide us the means of achieving success in the varying circumstances. This helps us to unfold many points not known to us to attain success.
Similarly, we should not ignore the sad situation when we are encountered with such situations leading to failures. We need to examine the different points and situations responsible for the failures. Such critical analysis will certainly help us for the subsequent success.

I agree with Sheo Shankar Jha, that we should analyse the failures so that we will understand where we did a mistake. We should share such experiences with our children and other family members so that that will become a good lesson for them and they will never do any mistake similar to what we did. I like to know the opinion of the members on making children to understand the reasons for failures by reading and hearing failure stories of others.

There is no success without failure. All the big success stories in the world have started from failure. So, one needs to learn to accept failure if one wants to get success.

Failure is the first step towards success. It is a stepping stone in the process of achievement and progress in one's life. Running away from failure is actually, succumbing to pressure and quitting to fight back. Failing teaches one different ways of success.

It is the impulse and tendency of most people to think that reading or knowing about failure could hamper the progress of a person towards success. Actually, it becomes an inspiration to achieve remarkable positions in life if one understands unsuccessful bids in the true sense and works on the shortcomings of those who failed in the process of achieving something big. One can work on those things and prove better than others.

People should not just learn about the success stories but also about the unsuccessful attempts of people that led them to failure. It could help people achieve milestones in life.

I think it is about Rose that we should tell first. It is only when the child jumps to pluck the rose without any further thought that we have to warn about the thorns.

Similarly success stories should be told first, attractively but realistically. Then once the student/child has understood the core task, then h should be made aware of the risks involved there and make him prepare to mitigate those risks also. The student or child should be encouraged to take up a task but forewarned him about the hindrances that may occur and how to face and remove them. Failure stories should be told only to convince them that those attempting a task blindly without knowing the details and leaping without looking can bring failure. It should not be a cause for running away from a task, but to attempt it with proper preparation and remove all obstacles.

I have also suggested in my post that 'In addition to reading success stories. one should read failure stories also and understand them'. Always positive attitude is important. For that reading success stories is good. Then some failure stories reading and knowing the reasons for failure are also very important. I think almost all the authors expressed the same opinion only.

I fully agree with the author that children should be told both stories of success and failure as they should know that life is full of ups and downs. I still remember the story of Robert bruce and the spider which taught him to try and try even after repeated failures. He did the same and finally succeeded. I am sure many of you know the story.

Definitely! Learning from failures is a crucial part of success. It's a great way to see what didn't work and what you can do differently in the future. One example of a failure story that comes to mind is the story of Kodak.

Kodak was once a leading player in the photography industry and dominated the market for decades. However, with the rise of digital photography, Kodak failed to adapt and pivot their business strategy. They continued to focus on traditional film photography while their competitors embraced the digital shift. As a result, Kodak filed for bankruptcy in 2012.

The story of Kodak is a great example of how a company can fail to stay ahead of the curve and how important it is to continually innovate and evolve in the ever-changing business landscape. Despite its downfall, Kodak's legacy lives on as a cautionary tale for other companies to always be open to change and not get left behind.

“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends."
