Criticism is good to know our actual weaknesses and understand our mistakes. So a person who wants to improve their knowledge base and perform well should accept criticism from his well wishers and others. But the person who is criticising should be unbiased and should be honest.
Some people take the criticism very positively and can use them for betterment. An individual will get spoiled if his negative points are not pointed out and praise him. Some people go on praising the other person. This may spoil the other person as he thinks there is nothing more for him to improve further.
But some people intentionally criticise the other person to down his morale. Such. criticism need not be tKen seriously. Our bosses in our profession definitely will criticise us for our failures and help us to know our mistakes. My boss used to call me and tell me very clearly my mistakes and also he used to suggest ways for improvement . His help made me to grow fast in my career.

Criticism should be taken in the lighter way if we have committed during process and the right interpretation of the same will definitely help in our improvement but during this process, both the parties should be honest in their right approach. If the boss really wants that the subordinates must learn their mistakes so that there could be an improved performance of the group. But there should be a secrecy of such meetings and it should be a closed door meeting pinpointing the exact mistake of the the subordinate. This will help the subordinate to realise his mistakes without being offended.
On the contrary, if our intention is to insult or humiliate someone - be it working place or otherwise, it would not be a healthy approach.

Very few people take criticism in a sportive manner and do not react while being condemned. This kind of situation mostly takes place in almost every field of work. However, when someone wants to point out a mistake made by somebody, he or she should make sure that it should be made politely. Moreover, if the criticism is done in front of others it would hurt the sentiment of the person receiving it. Nevertheless, when someone points out your mistake to correct you, it should be appreciated and corrected. A true friend always tries to rectify your mistake if you are not right. On the other hand, some people buttress even the people whom they do not like in their presence but at their back make fun of them. Such people are dangerous.

Yes. Once when I was working for a reputed company, my boss took me to task for making a mistake. As I had joined very recently then and was much inexperienced I started crying and cried for the remaining working hours. It became so bad that the other staff started asking me what the matter was. Ultimately, when my boss came to know about it, he came out of his cabin and pacified me in front of others and told me not to be so emotional for petty reasons in life. That particular incident made me change my attitude towards criticism.

Criticism is a very common thing and we experience it with our family members or friends or other people in the society. People are in general habitual of criticizing others. When we are criticizing others then it is obvious that some other persons might be critisizing about us also. Criticism is defined as a reaction of people towards our status or activities.
The interesting thing about criticism is how we take it. If we take it seriously on its face value then we will be misled or even be hurt at times. The criticism may be positive or negative but it mainly depends how we take it. If we take it positively then it will help us in improving in doing our work in a better way. On the other hand if we take it in a negative way then we will be unnecessarily under some stress and will be taken to a state of taking revenge with the person who made that observation.

    Knowledge is power.
