I must share this uncomfortable truth

Only two weeks before, I went to a border-state. My wife also accompanied me. After I completed the work, my wife and I went to a very old and well-known Kali Temple located just beside the no-man's land. The border is being guarded by the BSF personnel. The BSF commandant assured that that part of the border has been completely peaceful.

We reached there in the early morning. The environment was serene and peaceful. Cold breeze was blowing. Birds were chirping. Some were flying across the barbed wire. There was no other devotee at that time. Only the priest was getting prepared for the morning puja.

My wife entered the temple entrance and rang the bell. Within 5-7 seconds of her ringing the temple bell, as if like magic, a loudspeaker from the other side of the border brutally broke the peace of early morning. It started blaring an announcement about the 'International Ijtema Conference' to be held at a nearby town on that side of the border. After the announcement, a shrill female voice started singing asking others to come to the feet of the shadow of the 'only true religion'. The blaring of loudspeaker continued as long as the morning puja continued in the temple.

The priest and a BSF personnel told us that this is a regular phenomenon. The religious place was located just across the border. It was built only 7-8 years ago; when I earlier went there in 2008, it was not there. The loudspeaker was placed in such a direction that the sound comes directly to India. And the blaring continues during the puja in the Kali Temple.

And these people get terribly offended and resort to violence if they hear any sound of aarti, puja or bhajan at the time of their prayer!

You have raised the issue through a live example in your own life and there is something in it which will make everyone of us to think over the issue in more details.
It is really unfortunate that there are some religions or sects in this world in which there are blind followers who not only follow their religion blindly but also follow the preachings of some of their religious leaders which only preach violence and misleading sermons to these followers.
Some of these followers are innocent young people who have no knowledge of the world in a cosmopolitan sense and they are simply mesmerized by their said religious leaders and then they can give their own life for keeping their religious ideas intact.
This is a very deep rooted problem and apparently there is no solution because if the followers are so blind and so strict in their minds about what they have to do then other people will simply become their target at any opportune time.
Indian people in general are very liberal and not blind for their respective religions. They will never offence or attack other religions just because of the differences they have as mentioned and taught by their respective religious leaders.
Because of that mind set Indian people who were originally living in the Indian peninsula suffered a lot during the Mughal invasion as well as the invasion by the Britishers.
Because we don't believe in violence and offensive techniques the other people take advantage of it and harass us and offend us from time to time.

I am not surprised by this act done by another side of the border. The reason this is what they are doing for the past 75 years. Instead of progressing their country, and looking after the basic need of their citizen, their main aim was how to harm India! The radical thoughts they have put in their people's minds so much that they do not even realise that they are only harming themselves. And this is what is happening there, people have no food, no basic facilities, and suffer badly in every stage, yet their evil mindset did not change. Those snakes, they pet them to harm India, now biting themselves. So this is the current scenario on our other side of the border.

So, we should not worry too much about it. Anyway, they reached that low level from there no GOD can save them. Yes, they will reach as early to get their 72 hoors soon. There is an old saying "What you sow is what you reap", which is exactly what happens there.

    Jeets!

This is happening not only across the border, but also in India. They get disturbed by bhajans and aartis during their five-time prayer, but don't bother about other's religious sentiment. That is the main reason behind violence between communities.

    Partha,

We Indians are very sensitive people especially when it comes to religion and this is why some political parties take advantage of this and misguide their own people with their new mindset and their radical thoughts. Now, to understand this current scenario properly, how many of us go through Indian history? All of us just react to what is going on blindly!

The problem started when the so-called 'secularism" word was added to our Indian politics, before that all was ok. Now how many of us know that our first PM Nehruji was the first to oppose the word secularism with B. R Ambedkar on his side?

Earlier, in the Bollywood song, the Bhajan was sung by different religious people, composed and other religious people. Md Rafi saab has sung so many Hindu Bhajanss, there were no complaints then. But why there are so much hue and cry now? If we do not understand these small things then we are truly blind to our radical thoughts.

The sad part is we do not know our history but just come out to protest anything and everything which we feel personally right.

Due to religious blindness and the associated stubbornness some people are taking offensive actions against people of other religions and that is the crux of the problem. This is not happening today only but is present there for a long time in our society and if we go through the history of India in detail then we would get the rudimentary information as well as some probable reasons for these things happening in such a large scale.
One thing that I have noticed is that there are some evil elements in some religions which have some hidden agenda behind their actions and they are the centre of hate spreading and misleading their youths and provoking them for terrorist or other unwanted activities.
If a young person is provoked and can sacrifice one's life in terrorist act then he can kill any person through suicidal mode or direct encounter. So till the young people are misled by the evil elements these things would continue. The whole world is suffering because of these people and there is no solution on the anvil.

Although some members may object, but I must state that when religion does not remain a private affair between a person and Almighty, such problems occur.

In our case, religion is a private affair. But in some cases, people want to establish the superiority of their religion over others'. When some one tries to establish the superiority, there is reaction from the opposite side also.

This is the most unfortunate issue that is happening not only across the border but also within the country also. Unfortunately, no follower of that religion will talk against the deeds of their own persons. But Indians are very soft and they have a lot of tolerance. Our own people will talk against us and support others.
Anyhow, we have to continue like this only. We know the condition of Indians in Pakistan. How they treat us and what respect they will give us is known to us. All religions are equal and anybody can follow the religion they want. But the problem comes when somebody starts abusing other religions. Definitely, there will be some opposition from the other side also which will result in some confrontation.
Even in our country, the rules for different religions are different. That discrimination should go. In AP. But that may not happen as long as the vote politics is there in our country.
