Alas! A soldier dies in his own home town

A twenty-nine-year-old soldier has been killed after he was attacked by a DMK councillor in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri district. The name of the soldier is Prabhu and he served in Jammu and Kashmir.

It has been reported that there was an argument between the soldier and the DMK councillor, Chinnnasamy, over washing clothes at a public tank. The soldier and his brother Prabhakaran were attacked by the goon councillor and his followers.

I am ashamed! A soldier who defends the country at the border, is getting killed in his home-town in Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister of the state, who is also holding the charge of Home department, has not done anything so far in this regard.

And, a member of ISC always goes ga-ga to praise such a Chief Minister.

I have also seen this news item in the internet where it is mentioned that 33-year-old Indian Army soldier Prabhakaran was beaten to death by DMK councillor Chinnasamy and nine of his supporters in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. It is also reported in the news that Prabhakaran and his brother Prabhu were attacked in the night and Prabhakaran was critically injured in the attack and died at a private hospital on Tuesday (14.02.23).
His brother Prabhu lodged a police complaint based on which police arrested six men, including Chinnasamy's son Rajapandi.
Later, police perceived the case as a murder case and are on the lookout for Chinnasamy, who is reported to be absconding since the day of the attack.
The whole episode is in a very bad taste. How can a councilor treat an army person in such a offensive manner. Being in such a dignified position why is he absconding?

    Knowledge is power.

That is the order of the day. The politics and political leaders touching the lowest levels in ethics and values. They never care for such things. They want to earn money and they want to maintain their supremacy. Nobody should question them. One of the prime ministers of India coined a slogan saying that Jai Javan and Jai Kisan. Now we are seeing what value is being given to Javans by these leaders.
Police may arrest the councillor and some enquiry may go on but nothing is going to happen to the councillor. In many states in India the ruling party people and police are working together in safeguarding their interests. So finally nothing is going to happen.
Police is taking action based on the complaint they received. I don't know whether any other political from the same party made a statement condemning the action of the councillor on the javan. I have not read anything like this in newspapers.

#769619: I fail to understand what details I missed in my Forum post. The information was collected from the great NDTV, which was the cynosure of eyes of all Indian liberals only a couple of moths before.

I wrote this post yesterday night. Only one update. The absconding goon has been arrested. I got this information today morning.

Partha, don't you think you missed/ were hiding facts when you said that the Chief Minister, who is holding the charge of Home department failed to do anything? Why didn't you mention about the arrest of six individuals who were arrested immediately on receiving a complaint from the brother of the soldier? Please do not miss out, for whatever reason, on such vital details when you are posting such information.

Half-truths are more dangerous than lies. Respectable and responsible members should wait until all the facts come to light and comment then only.

#769634: You are correct. I wanted to write 'say', instead I wrote 'do'.

However, did you expect police wouldn't do anything when two persons were attacked & grievously injured and one of them died subsequently? For this arrest, do you want to give credit to the great chief minister?
