Happy Mahashivratri to all my friends here

I am not a regular temple visitor neither I do traditional puja at home. However, I strongly believe in Lord Shiva, and the three words " OM NAMAHA SHIVAY" I kept chanting. Once, in fear, these three words came into my life and stayed till today. I experienced the power of this mantra not only for me but when I prayed for others too. But again, it is all totally personal faith and belief in how one takes it in their life.

Today is Lord Shiva day and Mahashivratri, may Lord Shiva bless you with happiness and joy in your and your family's life.

Let the Thoughts of Lord Shiva run into everyone's mind at least today. Lord Shiva, according to Puranas, is a God giving boons on whatever the devotee ask Him, without any bias and second thought.

On this auspicious day, let us all have the blessings of Lord Shiva. He never forgets his devotees and provides them all sort of happiness. Chanting the mantra - Om Namath Shivaya provides us peace and strength. Wishing all members a happy Maha Shivaratri.

Maha Shivaratri is one of the biggest religious festival of our country and people celebrate it with lot of devotion and many of them keep fast to respect Lord Shiva. In many parts of our country it is believed that if the girls keep fast on this day and offer prayers to lord Shiva then they will get a good life partner. Probably it is linked to the devotion of Goddess Parvati (Devi) to seek Lord Shiva as husband.
In many Shiva temples there is usually a long queue of devotees for offering prayers on this day.
Shiva in Sanskrit means 'auspicious'. Lord Shiva is considered as a powerful deity and is having a following of many natural and supernatural creatures who accompany Lord Shiva whenever He is on a mission. There are many names by which Lord Shiva is known but some of the common ones are Shambhu, Shankara, Mahesha, Nageshwar, Mahadeva, Nataraja etc.
Lord Shiva is embodiment of huge power and many people believe that dedicated prayers to Lord Shiva bring energy and action in one's life.
On this occasion I also wish everyone a happy Maha Shivratri festival.
