    Asssessment is essential in life

    Assessment is an important part of education. Generally, an assessment is done of the learning and for the learning. After the assessment, we get the result of the learning outcomes of the students. After the assessment, we analyse and plan future lessons for the students. So, assessment of learning and for learning is essential in education.

    Similarly, we should also take an assessment of everything in life. It would help us to understand whether it is well or not. By assessment, we can find out if a thing is good or not for us.

    Assessment is in the nature of review. By doing the assessment we come to know where we are standing. That is the point at which we have to decide how much efforts are still to be done for a better assessment.
    Generally assessment is external so that we are not biased about our performance. In some situations assessment is internal. In that case we have to perform and we have to judge ourselves. We have to assess ourselves and then take decision to repeat the efforts and try again or to go ahead. Every assessment is a step in the success ladder. More we clear more ahead we go.
    Knowledge is power.

    Assessment should be a part of our life and we all do that often without even our notice. When we go for purchasing an article, we will assess the article against the price we have to pay for it and see whether the cost is justified for the quality of the product.

    When we want to promote or give an increment to our junior we should assess his/her performance against the expectations the organisation is having on him. The selection process of a person for a post is nothing but the assessment of the candidate's calibre against the needs of the job.

    Every person should undergo self-assessment once in a while so that he/she can understand the strong point and the areas where improvement is required. The process of self-assessment will make us more efficient as we understand our weak points and try to improve on those areas.

    When we go for voting also we will assess the efficiency of candidates and try to choose the best person. This is also a kind of assessment only.
