If given an opportunity - Which region, or area will you choose?

Although it is in trend and happens every time a regime changes- history is made a target and everyone tries to rewrite history.
If you were given an opportunity to re-write history and bring new research into it - what areas you might have selected? and why?
Especially in the context of north India, any regional thing which you think is missed out in the mainstream history.
This forum I have placed this for a serious discussion as I might incorporate these ideas into my work. If you have any good idea especially if it is in the context of modern history and hilly regions.
What do you think can be a good topic to start?

Because of wars between the countries as well as effect of attack by invaders on various countries at different times in the history the map of world changes continuously and significantly. An honest and sincere historian will cover all these steps in his history and mention the original tribes and their cultures of a place before the invasion or war. If that is maintained then history will be a good replica of what actually happened in the past.
Unfortunately, many historians do not bother for the cultures and tribes which were there before the wars or invasions. That makes the history as a deformed and distorted version of what happened in the past and the people who read that history are misled and get confused and in many cases they are not able to determine their identity with those old tribes and cultures to which actually they belong. This is a pity but it is the result of biased history writing.
Coming back to the query of author as above I would suggest that one should go through the archaeological details of an area and also the folklore and local stories of old times and then corroborate them for writing a better piece of history of that place. Old documents written by local historians and scholars are also of valuable help in the matter.

For me from my personal experience I know about Delhi only. in the west very minimal about Mumbai. In the east very little about kashi & Mathura. So I am eager to get to know things.

Also during modern times A change in Delhi politics I hope AAP has both plus and minus in executing schemes. Similarly BJP is doing good things in politics. But i hope nobody is turning towards culture whereas it concentrated with Kashi being sacred and PM constituency. Also it takes Ayodhya too.

Sorry I missed to write, in the lighter vein, yesterday only I thought of writing about Jodhaa Akbar vs Bajirao Masthani and for that I thought I should read complete 16th and 18th century history and compare.

I am a science student but I have a great interest in history. I believe that history is a great subject to study If I can select a region I would like to choose Rajasthan. There are many historical places and I do not know more about them.

So, I believe that there is a need to research the truth about the history of Rajasthan.

Honesty is the best policy.

Himachal Pradesh is a very nice place and there are many historical places in that state. It is a state having scenic hill stations, villages, snow-covered mountains, valleys, flora and fauna. It is a haven for nature lovers, adventurers and backpackers. There are many places to see with a lot of history behind them.
Naina Devi (Bilaspur), Jwalamukhi Temple (Kangra), Baijnath (Dhauladhar), Hadimba Devi (Manali), Bijli Mahadev (Kullu), Baba Balak Nath (Hamirpur), Mata Vaishno Maha Devi Tirth Temple (Kullu), Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara (Manikaran) and Rawalsar Gurudwara (Mandi) are some important places. There are many stories about all these places but the actual history behind these places is not available anywhere. So I like to research some of these important places and may try to find out the actual history.
