India wins two Oscars - Hurrah!

It is a matter of pride and great joy for the country with India bagging two Oscars this year. The Elephant Whisperers won the award in the Best Documentary Short category, and RRR's Naatu Naatu bagged the award in the Best Original Song category. Three cheers!

It is also commendable that the film All That Breathes was nominated for Best Documentary Feature film, although it did not bag the Oscar.

Congratulations to all Indians. It's the first time in history that India wins two Oscars at a time. As Vandana Madam stated that The Elephant Whisperers won the award in the Best documentary short category and RRR's Naatu Naatu won the award in the best Original song category.

Though I have not watched The elephant whisperers so far now I would like to watch that short documentary. Congratulations to all Indians.

A proud moment for all Indians. Now the world knows about the Indian Cinema Industry and that too especially South Indian Cinema Industry. It is proved that we have the talent to do anything and are second to none in many ways.
The Elephant Whisperers is a real story I heard. The story is all about an elephant and documentary filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves directs it. This is her first movie as a director. Congratulations to the whole for their excellent work; they made our country proud.
RRR is a very popular movie and won many awards and rewards. It is a big hit across the world. The particular song is written by Chandrabose and the music is by Keeravani. The film Director Rajmouli is a very well-known director and all his movies are appreciated. The two top heroes of the Telugu Cinema industry NTR and Charan did a marvellous job and they brought laurels. My appreciation and congratulation to team RRR.

India has bagged two awards in 95th Academy Awards (Oscar awards) which is a great achievement and we all feel proud of that. Oscar awards are the prestigious global cinema awards and it is the first time that India has got two Oscars.
Historically, in 1982, Bhanu Athaiya won Oscar in Best Costume Design category. Then in 1992, honorary Academy Award was given to Bengali filmmaker Satyajit Ray. He was the only Indian to date to receive that honour. After that in 2008 an Oscar was given for Best Sound Mixing and Best Original Score respectively for the British film Slumdog Millionaire. This award was won by Indian artists Resul Pookutty and A. R. Rahman. Writer Gulzar was given the award for Best Original Score and Best Original Song.

Along with other members, I also congratulate the Oscar-winning documentary team and RRR team from India.

But, in this connection, I would like to ask a question. How many of us remember Bhanu Athayia? How many of us remember her without checking the internet? Answer honestly.

Very soon, almost all of us will also forget the 'Elephant Whisperers' and 'Naatu Naatu'.
