Why India lost the ODI match against Australia played yesterday in Chennai?

The Australian cricket team that visited India ended its tour with a victory. They lost the T20 series and the test match series against India in this tour but won the ODI series with a 2 - 1 margin.

Yesterday the last ODI was held in Chennai. This is the series decider. Australia won the toss and elected to bat. India lost the match by 21 runs. At one stage India was on top and winning chances were high. Australia was at 203/7 after 38.1 overs. But Indian bowlers failed to contain the tailenders and gave away another 66 runs. This is what made the difference.

On this pitch 270 is a big score and very difficult to score. But India did well in scoring runs. But Rahul and Jadeja played very slowly and made the other side's batsmen take risks. That is another reason for our failure.

Indian bowlers might not have been allowed tail-enders to score so many runs. I would like to know the views of other members.

I have raised earlier also such threads.
In the forum section, there is a sports parent category and there is a cricket category. I have raised this thread in the same category. So, I feel there is no problem in discussing this topic here.

In my opinion, after Dhoni era, There is no mediocre/moderate score game. His position in number 6 or 7 was that crucial. The current Indian team can have a high voltage day and cracking win (with bowling or batting) or a stumbled day like a peck of cards. These are the two common scenarios seen in Indian cricket under Virat & Rohit captaincy. India is still searching for a consistent No.6 or 7 player. Hardik is nearer to that task but not as good as Dhoni or a Robin Singh or a Michael Beavan of the Mighty Australian era.

ISC is an educational site and it preferably accepts and publishes educational matters only. But in forum section various other matters are also allowed to be discussed but educational matters get preference.
As per my understanding, general nature posts are allowed in a limited extent as per the importance of the matter and duplicate or similar posts are quickly deleted.
Coming to the 3rd ODI between Australia and India, Australia scored a good number of runs and that became a big target for India. It is also true that the tailenders of Australia made good runs and our bowlers could not check them.
With score of 1-1 in last 2 ODIs India was in a good position but in cricket we do not know what would happen till the final result comes.

    Knowledge is power.

I love cricket and I am fond of playing cricket. But I missed yesterday's match as it was our first day of the holy month Ramdaan and I did not get time to watch the match. But I watch the recap of the match.

First of all, I want to accept that Australia played better than India in the whole series. We won only one match but it was very close. Similarly, we lost the second match badly.

Yesterday's match was the final of the series and we did not play well. The score was not high it was reachable. But we lost the wicket at regular intervals. In my opinion, losing a wicket at regular intervals was the main reason for losing the match. You will also see some batsmen got a better start but couldn't convert it into a high score.

    Honesty is the best policy.

If you closely watch the performance of the Australian players, you could see the entire team has displayed impressive performance in the entire game. While talking about the performance of our players, the first match was definitely better and ultimately we won that one. However we have shown our dismal performance in the second match.
Then the final match followed where we lacked the spirit to win the same. Frequency of losing the wickets was on the higher side attributable to loss of match.

Losing wickets at regular intervals is definitely a problem. But all batsmen not contributed. Both Jadeja and Rahul might have scored another 30 runs we might have won.
