    Health benefits of common kitchen items-1: Turmeric

    In our country we use a variety of items in our kitchen especially spices. Some of these are very good for our health as these contain certain special minerals and other important materials.
    One of the most common spice used in our houses is turmeric. It is a spice which gives a yellow colour to our dishes. The main ingredient in turmeric that is good for our health is Curcumin which has powerful anti-inflammatory and strong antioxidant properties. In old times people used and applied turmeric paste for healing the wounds.
    Some people take it with milk to derive it's health benefits. Raw turmeric is said to be good for throat ailments.

    I agree with the author and our kitchen is a medical store and all items which are used as spices have some medical properties. As the author mentioned that turmeric is used with honey to heal wounds in old times. It is also used for throat infections. Singers also used turmeric with milk to improve their voices.

    Turmeric is also used for gastric problems. A small amount of turmeric is taken with hot water for all types of gastric problems. It is also used to remove unwanted pregnancies at an early stage. Turmeric is also used to make a paste for skin infections and ladies used this paste for smooth skin.

    Honesty is the best policy.

    The author is right. It, the turmeric, is a simple item, normally we keep in our kitchen either in the form of dried root or powder. Both are helpful in odd hours.
    1. When we feel severe cold or nose congestion, the turmeric root can be burned in an oil lamp flame and inhale the smoke coming out, nose congestion and cold can get cured.
    2. Sore throat can be get cured by consuming hot milk added with slight turmeric powder.
    3. Athlete foot and heel crack can get cured simply by applying paste made of mixing turmeric powder with castor oil.

    Our kitchen is the store of numerous herbs and spices being used for the different health ailments. If we talk of health benefits of turmeric, it has the following health benefits-
    1) It is an excellent herb to take care of our cough and cold if taken along with the warm milk in the night after our dinner. It will eliminate cold within a couple of days if taken at least four to five days.
    2) It has antibacterial / antiseptic property helping us to heal up boils or minor cuts.
    3) It helps in the process of digestion supporting lever function.
    4) Apply Turmeric Powder mixed with castor oil and making paste with the proper mixup of gradients, cracked skin can be healed up fast. The results would be visible within a week.

    Turmeric paste can be applied to our faces so that any black marks and other wrinkles will get vanished. In many Hindu families, ladies apply turmeric paste to their face before their bath and wait for some time. That will give a special glow to their faces. Vicco turmeric is a very famous beauty product that is being used by many ladies these days also.
    During COVID times we used to take a glass of hot milk with a little turmeric powder in it. It is a very good medicine for cough, cold and related fevers. Whenever we have some symptoms of cough we take turmeric milk before going to bed. That will help us in recovering fast from the problem.
    If there is any wound or cut we can apply turmeric powder to that so that the bleeding will get stopped. If there is any swelling observed also, we can apply turmeric paste for reduction.
    Turmeric will be added to many food products so that every one of us will have some intake of the product that will help us in painting our health.
