We must contain our greed for earning more and more money

Some people acquire academic qualifications and then join a company or organisation for earning their livelihood and making a career. On the other hand there are many opting for doing their own business or joining a business as a partner and then make a living and career through that channel. Whatever the manner in which people earn their livelihood and manage their lives there comes a stage when the element of greed silently steps in their lives and then they start yearning for more and more money. There is nothing wrong in earning more but the point is that one should not be greedy.
Greed is an evil that starts disturbing our lives and then we lose our time and efforts all for making that extra money. Containing greed is necessary for having a balanced and happy life. Greed often pushes people in wrong doing and they only realise it when they are caught by the law authorities and get punished for it.
I strongly feel that we must suppress our greed in any form and try to be rational and clear in our approach towards earning money.

The author is correct. There should be a motto to earn a good volume of money but that should be in a rational way. The motto should never be linked with illegal or abnormal activities on any account. However whatever volume we earn, we can eat, dress and live to a possible extent. Though we construct a huge house in three grounds level, we can sleep or sit only in a room level.
A businessman increased his wealth to a huge extent by giving low salary to his workers and hiding the government dues etc., On certain situation a litigation filed against him and on the day of enquiry he has been brought to the court of Law. But the judge made him wait to take up his case for enquiry. After a gap of more than two hours, judge taken up his case. He was brought to the box before the judge. Judge by seeing him whether he took any breakfast. The businessman shacked his head as 'No'. Judge ordered to bring five idlis straight to the box. A servant brought five idlis in a plate to him. The man as had no breakfast and felt hungry took idlis fast but more than three he could not eat. By seeing this Judge asked him to take more but the businessman expressed his inability. After a gap judge told him, 'Sir, you cannot eat the whole volume brought for you but what you would do by accumulating so much wealth by cheating your employees and government?" By hearing these words from the judge, the business man realized the inner meaning, started wept and accepted his crime.

I agree with author that we should suppress our greed. We should earn money but it should be remembered that money is not everything. Greedy people are never satisfied in their whole life. they always try to earn more and more money by any means and ultimately they use illegal methods to earn money.
    Honesty is the best policy.

What the author has indicated is exactly correct. Stretching income through unfair means will make you feel guilty very often for your wrong doings. At the initial stage, you may not feel the side effects of such activities but once it is known to the income tax authorities, you would be required to heavy penalties for your illegal incomes apart from legal sentences which the judiciary might feel appropriate in your case.
Think of your reputation, if you are nabbed by the lawful authorities for such illegal income. Even your children would suffer mental agony for such illegal incomes. Raise income in such a way that your family leads a peaceful life after paying appropriate income taxes.

Well Said Umesh. Greed is a natural human emotion that can be defined as an excessive desire for material wealth or gain. It can motivate people to work hard, achieve success, and make positive changes in their lives. However, when greed becomes unchecked, it can lead to negative consequences such as corruption, exploitation, and even crime.

One of the main problems with greed is that it can never be fully satisfied. The more we have, the more we want, and this endless pursuit of wealth can become a source of stress, anxiety, and dissatisfaction. Greed can also lead to unethical behavior and compromise our values, relationships, and overall well-being.

Therefore, it's important to strike a balance between ambition and contentment. It's okay to aspire for more and set goals for ourselves, but we need to be mindful of our values, priorities, and the impact of our actions on others. We also need to cultivate gratitude and appreciation for what we have, rather than focusing solely on what we lack.

Ultimately, it's up to each individual to decide how they want to live their life and pursue their goals. However, we should all strive to be mindful, ethical, and responsible in our pursuit of success and happiness, and avoid being consumed by greed and its negative consequences.

We come here with empty hands. We go back from here with empty hands only. So one should be happy if they are able to earn sufficient for their living. They should be happy if they have that capacity. But people will not get satisfied with that. Only a very few people may get satisfied with whatever they earn. But many people will be greedy and want to earn more and have reserves in their bank accounts. They think that they should earn and give wealth to the next generations. But they never know what the next generations are going to do with that money.
Too much greed will spoil our health also. A satisfied and content person is the happiest man on this earth.
Another issue is we compare ourselves with other people and think that we all should be happy like others and live like others. But we never know what issues other people are facing. They may have money but not health. Unless otherwise, we get into their shoes we will never know their problems. Be happy with what you have and never be too much greedy and get your health spoiled.
