Thread of the week contest... Ameliorate.

I have tried to use the word 'Ameliorate' in the following paragraphs.

Covid-19 shook the whole universe in 2019. Even now people shudder to even think about the grave situation wherein lakhs of people lost their kith and kin and something or the other. Everyone wanted the coronavirus to be ameliorated as soon as possible. The loss of precious lives of people of all age groups was a shocker. All the countries of the world put forward their best efforts to ameliorate the disease immediately. At last, an effective vaccine has been found and Covid-19 which was a nightmare slowly faded away.

When I was traveling by train, my co-passenger had a severe headache and unfortunately, he did not have any medicine to ameliorate his headache. Fortunately, I had a few 'Saridon' tablets which I gave him. The tablet acted as an ameliorator which relieved him of his pain.

Some fatal diseases can only be ameliorated with the help of medicines and therapy but cannot be cured completely.

Many people suffer from abject poverty and they need help from others and require food, clothing, and shelter. It is good to notice that some philanthropists regularly donate to the cause of the amelioration of poverty.

When any misunderstandings among family members or friends happen, it is necessary to ameliorate the situation immediately so that the matter should not cause further damage or worsen.

Natural calamities such as floods, earthquakes, and landslides happen unexpectedly at any time of the year. When it strikes, even rich and powerful nations need foreign aid to ameliorate the effects of such disasters. India has also helped when there was a need and had ameliorated the situation many times.

Please note: The word 'Ameliorate' originated from the Latin language. Parts of speech.. ameliorate...ameliorated,.....Verbs. amelioration... uncountable noun amelioratingly...adverb ameliorable, ameliorative...adjective.
It is used as a transitive and intransitive verb. There are many synonyms and antonyms which can be easily accessed. Therefore, I have not mentioned them here.

Good attempt Niharika. Appreciating your effort to synergise & synthesise an article with this uncommon word presented by our editor for the contest. I hope you are an English teacher or having a very good command over English language. Anyways all the best!

The author has used the word ameliorate to depict many situations in our lives where immediate improvement or resolution is required. Many people in this world are suffering from poverty, some are suffering from health issues, some are suffering from mental issues, some are not getting opportunities to rise in their careers and to that extent everyone requires that ones condition is ameliorated by some external agencies giving them opportunity and relief in their present conditions.
Many governments in different countries are trying to ameliorate the conditions of its people by providing them facilities and opportunities of all sorts. Those having a good governance and sufficient tax revenue collections to run their country are able to achieve this objective and that is why they are known as developed and advanced countries.

The author used the word ameliorate in different conditions and tried to explain the meaning of the same. There may be different difficult situations from which we have to come out and for that, we should ameliorate our efforts. We all know that prevention is better than cure. But sometimes, even though we are very careful conditions which are not in our control may bring difficulties and problems to us. If necessary we may have to take the help of others to ameliorate our condition.
There is scope for misunderstanding and problems everywhere and anywhere. All the parties involved should put in collective efforts to improve the situation and bring the situation to normalcy. That is what the author explained in this post. A good attempt.
