I also pay my condolences on the demise of the great artist.
Innocent Vareed Thekkethala was a multifaceted personality and had worked in about 750 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and English. He produced 5 movies also. His roles in movies were predominantly comic ones.
He had represented the Chalakkudy constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha as an independent candidate. He was also the president of AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) and remained in that position for 18 years.
He was a writer also writing in the local newspaper and had written 5 books.
With the success of his film Ramji Rao Speaking (1989) remade as Hera Pheri in Hindi (2000) he became a frontline star in Malayalam cinema and became an important person in Mollywood industry.

    Knowledge is power.

A super comedian, a versatile actor and above all a very good human being, Innocent will always be remembered by Malayalis across the world. The way he fought cancer with a smile has inspired many to stay strong against the disease. Death is inevitable and he succumbed to the second attack by the killer disease. He has played so many different characters though comic roles were his forte. Adieu, Innocent sir. I will keep on enjoying your movies and keep remembering you till my last breath. May your blessed soul rest in peace and may you keep on making people in the other world laugh their hearts out. RIP!

Innocent Vareed Thekkethala is a well-known actor, politician and writer. He produced some movies also I believe. He mostly acted as a comedian but he worked in some movies with negative characters also. I never heard about his acting in Telugu movies. He was born on 4 March 1948. He started his film career in 1972 and worked in more than 700 films. He is a very popular actor in Malayalam. I heard many mimicry artists imitating his voice. Many famous directors never take a movie without him.
It is a big loss to the Indian film Industry in general and the Malayalam film industry in particular. I convey my condolences to his family. Let his soul rest in peace.
