Have you observed such trends in Internet?

We are living in an age of the internet. People are submitting images, photos, articles, viewpoints, comments, videos, short videos (reels) etc in the various sites and some of them are becoming much popular and starting a trend. Recently, I saw a short video (reel) in which a person is dancing on a catchy and melodious song. Then I found that there are so many short videos wh.ere people are dancing on the same song in a different way. As I have seen so many short videos on that song I felt that it was a very popular trend and people are simply go on following it.

Have you also observed any such trends on the internet where people start following a particular theme or song or narrative or anything of that sort and suddenly there is a mushrooming of short videos on that and wherever we go we find them there? What is there in that theme or idea that it sets such a viral trend? Please share your experiences.

Yes, Umesh sir, you are right. I have also found such types of videos where people dance to different songs in different ways. This trend is popular among young people and also children. My niece is only 5 years old and she is fond of watching this type of video on YouTube. She does not need a person to help. She takes the mobile of her parents and opens YouTube and starts watching the videos of her interest.

So, short videos are very popular nowadays. If you have a YouTube channel, it is mandatory to have a certain watching of short videos of your channel for monetizing by Google.

This being the internet age, we can see a lot of different groups of kids making videos of some short scenes for its ultimate utilisation of pleasure sake. They would be seen in the dancing modes in the groups with some songs. This trend is popular in most of the major towns and cities and with the progress of time, more and more kids are joining in such activities.

These days social media is providing a space for all people to showcase their skills. Earlier we have no such platforms and many skilled people were not able to show their talent to many people. This social media is motivating people to come out with videos to showcase their talents.
Yesterday I have seen a video in which a music artist is using Veena and playing the oscar award winner song Natu Natu song on that Veena. In AP and Telangana that video is viral now. Even many housewives are making videos demonstrating the procedure for making some dishes and everybody can make that dish by watching that video. Youtube is getting many views with these videos.
All this is possible because of the availability of the internet. Youtube, WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram are making people contribute more on these platforms.

One common example of such a trend is the "ice bucket challenge" that became popular on social media in 2014. The challenge involved people dumping a bucket of ice water on their heads and nominating others to do the same to raise awareness and funds for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research. This trend spread rapidly across the internet, with people from all over the world participating in the challenge and nominating their friends and family.

Another recent trend is the use of short-form videos, such as TikTok, which has become hugely popular worldwide. Many people have used the platform to create short videos of themselves dancing, lip-syncing, or performing comedy sketches. These videos often go viral, and others create their own versions of the same content, leading to a surge of similar videos.

The reason why certain themes, songs, or ideas go viral on the internet is complex and often unpredictable. It could be due to the catchy nature of the content, the emotional appeal, or the relatability of the message to a particular demographic. Social media algorithms and the power of influencers can also play a significant role in the spread of viral content.

In conclusion, the internet is a vast and ever-changing platform where trends come and go.
