How to ameliorate tension
The man was called a 'Don'. He was involved in all sorts of crime in a sacred city of Uttar Pradesh. He was involved in murder, extortion, illegal construction and many other crimes. It goes without saying that he had the blessings of the political leaders in power. For the sake of a few votes of the community to which the Don belongs, the political party in power used to turn blind eyes to the crime syndicate run by that man. When another party came to power, the Don quickly shifted his allegiance to the new party, and continued to run the crime syndicate without any hassle. He joined politics and became MLA. But he was not satisfied. He also wanted to make his younger brother an MLA. But, then the unexpected happened.
The common people were totally exasperated by the activities of the Don. They stood courageously behind an honest candidate. The candidate defeated the brother of the Don in the election.
The Don was angry. How could that common man defeat his younger brother? With the blessings of the top-level political leaders of the state, he murdered the MLA (in local parlance, this is known as 'thok dena').
But the common people were more angry. They ousted the casteist, communal, corrupt political party from power. A no-nonsense Yogi took over the reign of the state. The Don was arrested.
He was sent to a jail outside the state. The Don heaved a sigh of relief. Although the present ruling party started destroying his illegal properties, he felt physically safe outside his own state. But, he was called back to appear before the local court in the case of murder of the MLA, who had defeated his younger brother in the election. The Don tried every trick to avoid going back to his native place, but all his tricks failed.
Suddenly, the drama started! Some people started talking about vehicles turning turtle. Some people started to discuss how encounters take place at silent night. Another group discussed how some convicts die in police custody.
The so-called 'Don' cried like a child. He lost his mental balance completely. His ego was destroyed, his moustache became much smaller. In short, the tiger became a wet cat (again in local parlance, 'veegi billi').
In the process, we, the common people have come to know how to ameliorate tension and anxiety by deftly playing psychological tactics.
