In our house, we use this item regularly. But some elders in our house never consume. It is good to eat raw garlic on an empty stomach. Raw garlic contains Allicin which will help in blood thinning and also reduce the body's cholesterol. If garlic is cooked the Allicin content in it will get diluted and we will not get the desired results.

Garlic has numerous health benefits and even doctors recommended to consume the same at least one or two buds of this spice for the maintenance of healthy flow of the blood in our body system because of its diluting property of blood enabling the system of the normal supply of blood. This effect is more pronounced if taken in the empty stomach in the morning.
Moreover it raises the immunity level and hence we can get rid of seasonal ailments such as cough, cold and other viral ailments.
In case of body pain, mustard oil in which garlic is heated for sometime till its colour become black and discarding the garlic, the oil in slightly warm conditions are applied to the affected part to take care of the pain persisting in such regions.
Regular consumption of garlic in some form is always beneficial for the body especially for the regulation of cholesterol levels. Better it should be consumed in the raw state to reap its maximum benefits.
