Role of members in a website

Today there are a large number of websites where people register and become members of it and then they start contributing and enjoy that platform as per the rules, regulations, and policies of that site. Different people have different interests, likings, and aspirations and based on that they join a particular website. Generally, websites do not charge any registration fee or any money as a subscription from the members except a few of them which are also attracting a good number of members to them.

Now, when we work in a site and contribute then in many sites there are some rewards. It could be in the form of some points or discount vouchers or in some of the cases cash awards.
What is the responsibility of the members towards a site especially where they are getting some remuneration in some form whatever little it might be? Should members contribute in the overall interest of the sites so that it can generate more revenue and distribute a part of it it to the members? What are those things that members can do for the progress and development of the site so that it succeeds in today's tough internet environment? Please share your comments, views, and opinions.

Yes, you are correct. Different websites serve different purposes based on their goals and objectives. Some websites are created to promote products or services and market them to a wider audience, while others are designed to share information and knowledge with their users.

A member will play an important role in the progress of the site. They should align with the policies and work within that framework. They should see that their contributions will be good and will attract viewers. Here the role of site monitors is also very important. They have to monitor and guide the members as required from time to time.
A member should see both sides of the coin. What is his/ her contribution to the progress of the site should be seen and work in that direction always. At the same time, we can work for our personal gains also, It is not just alone money. We can improve our writing skills and that will be useful for you to perform well on other websites also.
In any system, all the participants should have a role to play and they should play those roles correctly and see that the goals of the site will be achieved.

It is human nature to develop a sort of sentimental attachment and loyalty to any individual, institution or entity with which we had some association for some time.

This is true with websites also. Initially the beginning of the joining and co-travel is for some reason and purpose and there may be some expectations. The attachment and regard may continue even after the purpose is fulfilled, and it may no longer be needed. From then on, co-travel is driven by mutual regard and sense of mutual help and companionship.

At this juncture of ISC changing its tracks, the members naturally will like to keep on the support and association even though the return is nil. But further continuation may be based on how much similar regard and sentiment ISC reciprocates towards the ones who stand by it .

As I always used to mention, the world (real and virtual) is a large space and it has space for everyone. So eventually it is a choice available for the site and equally so for the members also. It is just as 'if you like me and want me I am there ,If you don't like me or do not want me, I am never there and bye bye'.

Change is the only one that continues without change. Hope is ultimate one that drives the changes.

If the contribution of the members is essential for the development of a website then members always have a great role. When websites are providing remuneration to their members for their contributions they are doing it because they are generating some kind of revenue from those contributions. They share a part of the revenue and this revenue-sharing model is followed everywhere.

Just think of how an organization pay salary to their employees. They share a part of their profit from the production/service that the employees generate and naturally if they work according to the guidelines of the organization intending to generate more profit they get more revenue. Those who take a lead role in generating more profits are paid more remuneration and those who just do their part without doing anything extra for the betterment of the organization are paid just the usual remuneration fixed for their role. If we go by the example of ISC we will find the same is followed here also. Those who contribute more in sections generating more revenue get a more share of the RSBs and those whose contributions are not generating much revenue get a less share.

If members wish to work for the progress of the website they have to find ways to generate more revenue and also suggest to the moderators/webmasters ways they think necessary for the betterment of the website.

This is really a relevant post. The roles of the members in any educational sites are important. More is the traffic of members, more they are favouring their sites. In turn the site can generate revenues with their contributions however little it might be but care has to taken in the consistent basis.
Now talking in terms of India Study Channel, it is providing different inputs relating to education, admission process of different institutions, mode of question papers of the different courses, providing invaluable knowledge in the different domains for the benefit of members for absolutely no charges to their existing members. This is definitely an attractive point.
The members of this site have immense potentials and have even contributed significantly in the multiple sections of the sites of their expertise in the diversified topics. Raising the status of this site as one of the premier sites rests with them. We all should come up with our vigour to promote this site as one of the distinguished sites in the area of knowledge.

Timely and relevant post. Members have a responsibility to actively engage with and contribute positively to websites, respect the intellectual property rights of others, and use any rewards they receive in accordance with the site's policies and regulations. By doing so, they can help to ensure the success and growth of the site for themselves and others.
