If we are thinking of employment of the common mass, reservation policies taking consideration of all the entitled classes is not going to provide relief to the beneficiaries unless vacancies are created to fill up the posts. There is no dearth of the competent youngsters in all the caste but due to less vacancies of the different posts, no caste entitled to reservation is benefited due to regular release of the posts. The entire situation is grim particularly because of false promises of the government to take care of reserved pool in the employment process.
Moreover reservation policy needs to be redefined where only two classes should exist - poor and rich. The poor classes especially the poor need to get priority in the employment process. Apart from it, there should be quota to uplift the poor girls irrespective of the class they belong to in the employment opportunities considering them as the special categories. Such a rational approach will certainly be helpful for the disadvantaged classes of people. Sooner the same is implemented, the better.

There was a time when caste based reservation system was required and it helped a lot at that time. But seeing the situation today we have to stop that and give reservation only on the basis of poverty irrespective of caste.

The introduction of caste-based reservations was done to uplift the downtrodden people and provide opportunities to such people. Our constitution mentioned the time frame for reservations also. But later on, the governments are extending the duration of these reservations thinking about the votes they get by doing so. It is also acceptable if the benefit really goes to the needy. They can continue the reservation system based on their financial position rather than on caste. There are many rich people in reserved categories also as of today and they will also enjoy the reservation benefits. So that should be stopped. The government should link caste as well as income to deciding the reservation.
Caste-based reservations are in force in many states and everywhere the problems are there. Every political party will try to allot MP/MLA seats based on the castewise voters present in each constituency. The central government and state governments must sit together and come to an understanding on this reservation policy so that the whole country will follow the same system across the country.

Almost in all parts of our country there are people speaking against caste on one side and on the other side conducting caste survey calculations, asking caste certificate on certain occasions, providing caste based facilities etc., This nothing but pointing out that mere politics is playing on the caste based discussions.
