Shouldn't common people support the fight against corruption initiated by Sachin Pilot?

All of us have heard about Sachin Pilot. He is relatively young, Wharton-educated, cultured and he has a promising political future. His father was a very famous Congress leader (Rajesh Pilot) and his father-in-law and brother-in-law are also very important political leaders in Kashmir valley. He himself is an important political leader in Rajasthan.

Sachin Pilot has going to start his crusade against corruption in the state of Rajasthan. He has announced that he will sit on a one-day fast against corruption on Tuesday, 11th April (on the occasion of the birthday of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule).

Shri Pilot has further stated that Pilot said that it is necessary to assure people that the Congress State Government in Rajasthan is acting on its statements and promises made before the 2018 assembly elections. He has said that the Government failed to act against the excise mafia, illegal mining, land encroachment, etc.

However, some people say that this is another way to harass the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress Government in Rajasthan when the state election is round the corner.

But, what do you say? Shouldn't common men in Rajasthan support the fight against corruption initiated by Sachin Pilot?

The news reports I have read says that the fast by Sachin has been announced demanding action on corruption cases during the BJP led Vasundhara Raje goverment and not against corruption during the present regime. He says that he had written letters to the present CM Sri Gehlot seeking his intervention but nothing has moved on. There may be internal politics in Rajasthan but why read only this news in between the lines?

Any struggle against corruption should be supported by a common man, I feel. The person who is going to start a fight should be encouraged and all should be with him. It may be by a congress leader against a BJP leader or a BJP leader against a congress leader. The ultimate aim is to kill corruption permanently. So I think all should support the fight against corruption initiated by Sachin Pilot.
But some political leaders in power in some states are trying to harass people who are trying to fight corruption. That is because they themselves and their family members are involved in many scams and corrupt practices. Unfortunately, a common is not able to fight them. Probably a common man may show his power during elections only.
As a matter of fact, we should not only support but initiate a struggle against corruption at all levels in our country.

Any struggle/movement against corruption must be supported. However, in this particular case although the movement against corruption of the previous Government (as stated by a respected member), the present Government seems to be more perturbed.

    Astonishing!

Corruption has deeply penetrated in the society and the blame game against each other is being seen.if Sachin Pilot has initiated his campaign against the misdeeds done during Vasundhara Raje regime, the news don't appear to be sensational. Corruption is corruption and we need to fight the same tooth and nail to end this menace for the benefits of the common men.
The irony is that the common men are so busy with their occupations for maintaining their families, they cannot go beyond their normal routine activities to end this evil. They cast their votes to express their favour for some parties at least once during the tenure of five years. This is the only way for a common man to exercise his right.

Saji Sir has stated (#772350) "that the fast by Sachin has been announced demanding action on corruption cases during the BJP led Vasundhara Raje goverment and not against corruption during the present regime".

Today morning, I read that Congress leaders (instead of leaders from BJP) are very angry with Sachin Pilot because of the proposed fast. The latest news is that Sachin Pilot sat on a protest fast in Jaipur today, defying a warning last night that his move would be seen as an "anti-party activity".

Now, I am sure Saji Sir would provide an excellent explanation!

It is true that corruption is a deep rooted menace in our system and whoever be running the country whether it is Congress or BJP or Janata dal or any other party or a combined front, the irony is that corruption is not being contained. It is so much spread in the system below that even a person having honest will to eradicate this evil from our country is also going to face a tough situation.
We have witnessed many situations in the past also when leaders of various parties or even leader of independent nature started a big crusade against corruption and people especially the common people always supported them. It is unfortunate that some of these leaders simply pretended to do so and in actual life were not interested for any reduction or eradication of corruption in the country. So the reliability factor of these people is so low that we can't have faith in anyone saying that he would with the support of people would try to eradicate corruption from this country. That is the ground truth and this is what we have experienced since independence of our country.
Still if an honest person announces something like that we will definitely respect him and cooperate in our best of capacity whatever possible.

So, in Rajasthan, the fact is that when a Congress leader wants to start a fast ostensibly 'to protest against corruption of another party', leaders of his own party warns him to stop his 'anti-party activity' (i,e. fast).

Although this thread is basically not related to corruption, I want to quote John Steinbeck: "Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power."

Isn't this quote fully relevant to present-day Rajasthan or West Bengal?

Corruption has made a place in our system.
The leaders who claimed to be fighting for the poor have unfortunately taken advantage of their vulnerability and looted them extensively. They provided job opportunities through fraudulent means, exploiting the lack of knowledge and resources of the poor. As a result, the impoverished have lost out on valuable opportunities and resources. Corruption has become rampant, and those in positions of power are often found guilty of accumulating vast amounts of wealth for themselves.

Service to mankind is service to God.
